Complicated
Characters: Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker
This is a songfic. My first songfic in fact.
Based on the song, Complicated by Carolyn Dawn Johnson.
This story is from Padmé's point of view. Her feelings towards Anakin. During Attack of the Clones. Just a little something I wrote this week.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Padmé Amidala was so scared that the way that she felt was written all over her face. Uncharacteristically, when he walked into the room all she wanted to do was a hiding place.
They used to laugh. They used to hug, the way that old friends do. All those years ago. When they were young. When she was fourteen and he was nine. But he wasn't nine anymore…
Not even close.
Now just his smile and the touch of his hand just made her come unglued.
It's such a contradiction.
Should she lie or tell the truth? …What truth? There was nothing to tell. Was there?
Was it fact or fiction? Purely fiction.
Oh, the way she felt for him.
It's so complicated.
Padmé was so frustrated.
She wanted to hold him close. She wanted to push away. The next minute she wanted to make him go. To make him stay.
Should she say it…say what? Should she tell him how she feels?
Oh, she wanted him to…but then again she did not want him to.
It's so complicated.
Just when Padmé thought she's under control. She thinks she finally got a grip. Another being told Padmé that her name was always on his lips. Palpatine mentioned something about it when he commed her into his earlier. Giving her the executive order.
And now her sister pointed it out. Even her mother saw it.
They say I'm more than just a friend.
They say she must be blind. She wished.
That she was in denial. She was. She tried.
Padmé did admit that she'd seen him watching her from the corner of your eye. …It was more than that. His Nubian blue eyes constantly…just…
Oh, it's so confusing.
Yes, Padmé wished he'd just...just stop.
Because think of what he'd be losing…what she'd be losing. All they had worked for.
It's so complicated.
Again, Padmé was so frustrated. She wanted to hold him close. And she did in that garage. She wanted to push him away. She knew she should have pushed him away. She wanted to make him go. She wanted to make him stay. And so she did.
Should she say it? Should she tell him how she felt?
Oh, she wanted him to know, but then again she didn't.
It's so complicated.
Padmé hated it. She absolutely hated it. She waited so long for someone like him. Someone that was actually interested in her. Not her title. Her name. Her social status. Wealth. And any of those other matters.
What she do?
Oh, should she say it?
Should she tell him how she felt?
Oh, she wanted him to know, but then again she didn't.
It's so complicated.
It's so complicated.
It's so complicated.
End.
Review please. Would anyone like to see another songfic?
Also, I've recently created a new community called Varykino: A Retreat For Naberrie Stories. I've tried and tried again linking it here, but I can't seem to, so go to my profile and look under the Community tab.
And once again, Happy Valentine's Day!
