Some mild Subaru/Kamui for mah darling Shi... 'cause you're niftycool and I luff j00~ (and Kamui doesn't have to go to therapy today, so your wallet is safe for now!)
The reference in here is to Volume 4, specifically Save B. ^^ I'm a canon whore.

"This came for you in the mail."
Subaru frowned at the small box that Kamui held, reaching out for it. He hadn't been expecting anything... almost all his mail was sent to the estate in Kyoto. He turned it to read the address, but the family name was unfamiliar, and penned in a neat, precise hand he didn't recognize.
"Do you know who it's from?" Kamui sat down on the floor next to Subaru, and watched him curiously.
He shook his head, pulling at the tape that held it closed, and then sliding the contents out into his lap. A crisp white envelope, a small heart-shaped box of chocolate, and a handkerchief. He picked up the handkerchief, wonderingly.
It was soft, warn from many washes, the embroidery in the corner faded and starting to fray a bit. He picked up the envelope, pulling out a short note on a cute, flowery stationary, and a few pictures of a family. Two children, perhaps three and four years old, a handsome, honest-looking man, and a lovely woman, whose face bore a thin white scar down the right side.
A shock of recognition. He knew her, though he couldn't quite remember her name. He turned his attention to the letter, tightly clutching the handkerchief in his hand.
Kuniko Hashimoto. Who had, it seemed, done what she promised, and become strong enough to live wholeheartedly.
"...Subaru-san?" Kamui's soft voice broke into his reverie, and he looked up slowly.
"Hm?"
The other sighed softly, leaning his head against the arm of the chair. "Nevermind."
Subaru looked over at Kamui from the letter he was holding, and set it down in his lap. Slowly, he reached up to lay his hand on the other's head, stroking fingers through his hair soothingly.
Kamui sighed, relaxing just a bit, and Subaru turned his gaze back to the square of cloth that he held, exploring the texture that he hadn't ever actually experienced when he owned it.
After a long pause, he looked back at Kamui, and smiled faintly. "...would you like some chocolate?"
