So this is something little about Owen watching Amelia doing the superhero pose but as usual I got distracted and wrote something a little different about it. Hope you like it.
Owen heard the little steps, he couldn't understand where they came from. It was only 5 a.m, he just put his youngest son to bed after a bad dream and his older sister and brother were asleep, Amelia was getting ready for work, she has a huge surgery, but it was defiantly not her steps.
As he got closer to their room he saw the little figure standing next to the half opened door. She was standing there with her hand on her sides and her face looking up and Owen smiled as he remembered watching her mom doing the same thing years ago.
Owen walked closer, watching every step he makes so he won't make any noise. Now he can see that the little girl is coping her mother's pose, through the opened door he saw Amelia standing in the superhero pose, in his mind flooded that moment as he watched the woman he later married, he never told her that he saw her doing it, that he still see it when she is doing it before important surgeries and also before the first ultrasound o the little girl standing in front of him.
"Daddy" Amber whispered as she got tiered of the standing.
"Hi honey" Owen smiled "what are you doing up so early? You still have two hours to sleep before we go to your recital"
"I know, but mommy is preparing for work and she stands like a superhero so she will be good and I want to be good today too so I thought that if I stand like that…" the girl got away from the door and closer to her dad.
"What's wrong?" Owen set on the little sofa and invited his daughter to join him.
"I am a little sad mommy can't come" she said as she sat.
"I know, but you have to remember that she is still with you and she is proud and in the evening we all going to watch the video and see you" Owen wrapped his arm around her.
Amelia got out of the room and was surprised to see them sitting there.
"Good morning" she said.
"Look Amelia we have our little superhero here" Owen announced and made Amber giggle.
"do you want me to put you to bed before I leave?" Amelia asked and the girl jumped of her sit and ran to her room, Amelia smiled at Owen and followed her.
Few minutes later Amelia came to the room to find one sleepy Owen in bed.
"Hi I am leaving already" she sat on the bed and kissed him.
"You are going to be great" Owen said.
"Thanks, I didn't know you knew about the pose" Amelia said.
"I saw you before Herman's surgery, you were standing with Edwards and I looked it up later"
"You never told me that"
"You never told me about it either but you told Amber"
"She needed some confidence for today so I told her yesterday" Amelia kissed him again.
When she delayed before leaving Owen asked her what is wrong.
"Nothing I just thought about how difficult it was for us to get together" Amelia answered and took her keys.
"But worth it, right?" Owen lied back and watched her.
"So worth it" Amelia looked at him again before closing the door behind her.
