Only Three Years Away

Takes place during Tris's initiation. A 13 year old girl who has nothing better to do spends time watching and hanging out with the new initiates including Tris Prior. She is tough and stubborn and is pretty nosy, but is one of the most lovable people you'll meet. The war won't happen. This girl is waiting for her initiation to come which is only three years away.

Hello everybody. This is Archiepoke123 and I have decided to write a Divergent fanfic because I really wanted to write a story that I think is good. This story basically deals with a character that I created that is 3 years younger than Tris and hangs out with the main group. I apologize in advance for any OOCness and incorrect information that I might write because my Divergent knowledge is pretty slim. Enjoy Chapter One of "Only Three Years Away"

Today was the first day of the new Dauntless initiates. Since I am only 13, my initiation is only three years away. I hope that I will be allowed to watch and hang out with the initiates. I am a Dauntless born so I understand what these people will go through for the next couple of weeks.

My name is Danielle Sierra, but people refuse to call me by my first name. My best friend Tom always calls me Sierra, while all the other Dauntless calls me Dannie. They think that Danielle isn't dauntless enough. I don't disagree with them so I just go with it. So most of the Dauntless are standing by the net, waiting for the initiates to jump down the however many story building into the net. In three years, I'm going to be the first jumper.

That's right I said jump. It's all part of the initiation process. Standing right in front of the net are the two initiate trainers: Lauren and Four. Yes his name is a number; get over it. He usually gets a bit touchy if you comment on it so I usually wonder which initiate will be the "lucky" person to comment this time. He usually scares the cake out of me so I try to stay on his good side. The initiates are bound to jump any minute now.

Sure enough I hear a girly scream and see a gray blur fall into the net. Everyone near the net- including Four- reach out to grab her hand I can't believe my eyes. An Abnegation was the first jumper. Most non-Abnegation people call them stiffs, but I don't.

"A Stiff is the first jumper. Unheard of", said Lauren.

"There is a reason why she left Lauren", Four said. The girl takes Four's hand and when she stumbles, Four catches her.

"What is your name?" Four asks her. She looked thoughtful for a second as if wondering what she should tell him.

"Pick carefully. You don't get to pick again", he said. Finally she came to a decision and said,

"Tris." Tris looked pretty weak and short compared to the rest of Dauntless. In fact she didn't look much taller than I am and I'm only 5'3. By her appearance alone one could think she might not make it but looks can be deceiving. For all we know she might not do well during the physical part of initiation, but much better during the emotional and mental.

"Make the announcement Four", Lauren said.

"First jumper-Tris", Four announced. Soon everyone went very loud screaming- including me. Pretty soon the rest of the initiates came down and lined up. There were like 8 transfers and a littler more Dauntless born. I wonder who is going to get cut this year. I honestly hope Tris isn't because she seems nice and cool. This will be an interesting year. I'm sure of it.
