Zangetsu Ichigo

Zangetsu Ichigo

Well, this is my final fanfiction, fanfiction of July number thirty-one, part two. "Z" for Zangetsu, and the end of the alphabet. Well, like I said in my earlier fanfiction, thank you for those who read, thank you to those who supported my cause, and thank you to those who put up with these pointless rants in the beginning of each of my stories. I appreciate it all, and enjoy the story!

……….

"Ichigo…please make the rain stop…" Zangetsu pleaded. Ichigo was in a particularly intense battle, and the entirety of his inner world was being down poured, a heavy stream of water falling from the seemingly endless sky. Zangetsu stood on one of the lop-sided buildings, looking up into the sky, his glasses preventing the falling drops from getting in his eyes. "Win soon, Ichigo…You know how I don't like the rain…"

This was one of Ichigo's harder battles; who knew that Grimmjow would be such a difficult opponent once he was in released form? Ichigo struggled, he wanted to call on Zangetsu, but couldn't find the strength to. But he felt desperate too; as he lost energy, Grimmjow seemed to gain it. The battle raged, and Ichigo could feel himself getting weaker and weaker. Zangetsu…I need you…Help…me…

As the rain continued to collect in puddles on the "ground", Zangetsu found himself truly getting worried. He cared deeply for Ichigo, and never wanted to see him get hurt. He didn't want to intervene. No, not unless Ichigo said it was okay to. Just as he finished wishing this, Zangetsu felt a slight tug. Ichigo, he was calling for him. Calling for his help.

The fight was soon over as soon as Zangetsu intervened. Ichigo stood proud, albeit a little shaky, on the ground. Meanwhile, Zangetsu slowly reclined back into Ichigo's inner world.

"You're right. The boy won. Who knew…?" Hichigo hissed from seemingly nowhere. Zangetsu simply nodded.

"He's a remarkable boy, and I appreciate him asking my help. Anything, I'd to anything, to help him stop the rain."

Ichigo wavered, looking at the unchanging blade in his hand. Thank you, old man Zangetsu…he told himself, hoping Zangetsu would hear. I couldn't do it without you…he smiled. Ichigo thrust the blade in the air. "Thank you!" he yelled to the heavens. Zangetsu simply smiled, he couldn't, and wouldn't expect anything less from the boy.

The title is based off the song "I'm Only Happy When it Rains".
