Liar, Liar

"LUFFY!" You yelled as you raced towards the rubber boy at full speed. You (h/c) hair trailing behind you as you got closer and closer to Luffy. You fell to your knees beside him as your hands ghosted over his chest; unsure if you should touch him, in fear of hurting him. "Luffy..."

You had been captured with Robin by CP-9 because you had seen them take her, so they had to take you with them. You had tried to run away, but you realized that they were going to kill you as soon as you left and maybe even the others. So you stayed under the watch of the strongest CP-9 Agent, Rob Lucci. And you had watched the entire fight between your captain and your "guardian". You were terrified that he was going to die, and you deemed them evenly matched.

You had wanted to help, but you were so afraid that you would be only a distraction.

Stay back, (Name), I...have to fight him! Then will go back, all of us, and will forget about these bastards!

You looked down at the pirate captain, and his eyes fluttered open, "(Name)..." he whispered, and you nodded, gently clutching his hand, "are...are...you alright?"

You nodded and you felt tears well up in your eyes, "your one to talk, Luffy." You looked over at the defeated man, who had broken you and destroyed your spirit, "what about him?"

Luffy looked over at his enemy, "I...don't know...(Name)...your really okay, right?"

You gently reached up and adjusted that hat on his head, "yes, Luffy, I'm really okay." He grinned at you again, and his eyes closed. You smiled realizing that he was asleep, and probably too beaten up to fight against his fatigue. You walked over to the fallen form of Rob Lucci, and watched with emotionless eyes as his pigeon, Hattori, flew down next to him. You stared down at him, almost sadly, and at the same time you wished you had the honor of kicking his ass. You sat down next to him, and just stared at him.

You shouldn't help him, you told yourself, and as you began to get up, a hand shot out and grabbed your own.

You gasped in shock, "Lucci..?!"

"It..."he whispered in pain, and his eye flickered open; peering into your own, "it would have never worked out for us."

"I know," you answered simply, shocking him, "but I never wanted it too." Your words stung him, but you couldn't see it. You slapped away his hand; knowing that he wouldn't be able to complain or harm you. So you walked away, and you walked away from him, the horror and the lies you told yourself.

I never wanted it too.
