(PLEASE NOT THAT I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE CHARACTERS, AS MUCH AS I WISH I DID. THIS IS MY FIRST FANFIC. IT DOESN'T GET INTERESTING UNTIL A FEW CHAPTERS IN, SO JUST BEAR WITH ME UNTIL THEN)

The off track beating of my heart caused Edward to smile that beautiful crooked smile. He lay statue-like on my bed, barely big enough for the two of us, yet we made room. We didn't make any noise; we just stayed in our position on the bed. Our bodies weren't touching, just our hands, and we stared deeply into each other's eyes. I could see the red "Happy Valentines Day" balloons and a giant teddy bear out of the corner of my eye.

Edward didn't seem to be watching me, yet studying me. I moved my head back, like a cobra, and raised an eyebrow.

"What?" I asked, breaking the long silence. Edward sat up, creating another long silence. He stared down at the floor, which was covered in red confetti. Edward had gone to the extreme this Valentine's Day. I wanted so bad to clean it all up, but that would hurt his feelings. The red confetti, the red glitter all over my bed spread, the fifty two balloons that seemed stuck to my ceiling, all of it was getting on my last nerve. Yet, my heart was touched that Edward went through all of this.

Edward suddenly reached out and grabbed my face in his hands. I was terrified at the look in his eyes. Every time he got this look, I knew a serious conversation was coming up.

"Bella, you beautiful girl, I think we should talk."

"What is it, Edward?"

"I don't know exactly HOW to put this. I know that you love me, but I don't think that you know exactly how much I love you."

"I think I do," I argued back.

"Bella," Edward began. "Please, don't be difficult about this, but I want to show you how much I love you." I gulped. What was he about to do?

Edward reached into his back pocket, and pulled out two folded up pieces of paper. He scanned over them real quick, and handed me one.

I read over the paper, nervous. After realizing what it was, I began to open my mouth to put up a persuasive argument on WHY he shouldn't rent a forty thousand dollar island in the Caribbean for an entire week just for the two of us. But, to my surprise, his cold lips met mine, and began kissing my passionately. He pushed me back to lye down on the bed, and I obeyed, still kissing him. Suddenly, Edward threw his body on me protectively. He was still kissing me. I could hear glass break, and something hard land on my floor. Edward lifted himself off of me, just an inch or two, and whispered "don't worry" to me. I tried to maneuver my head to see what had landed on my bedroom floor, but he just met his lips with mine again.

"Hello there," a familiar voice greeted me. I closed my eyes. Not now, Jacob Black.
