He fingered the red curls of the boy sleeping soundly next to him, while gazing at the white ceiling.
He chuckled softly. Such a peaceful face, the boy next to him had, never losing the look of innocence.
Oh, they were right when they called you a kitten.. You're likened to a feline during tennis matches for your gracefulness, flexibility, reflexes, and other odd quirks..
But I'm glad I'm the only one who can compare you to a puppy, when you sleep.. You lay sprawled on the bed. Limbs going every which way. Right leg hanging off the side of the bed. Left leg on top of my legs. Right arm across your torso, and your left arm on my chest.
I'm glad, that only I know that you whimper at night when looking for something warm, then after a few moments, change your position and place your head face down on top of my shoulder. Soon after, you start nuzzling my neck, finding a part of me that's exposed and warm.
I'm glad that only I can hear, see, and generally experience your switch from these 'personalities' as you sleep. One moment you're whimpering like a puppy stuck in a foul dream, and in a flash, soft 'n..yah's and purrs of ecstasy escape your lips.
A small smile slowly crept its way onto his face.
However, it doesn't matter whether you're more like a kitten or a small puppy. All that matters is that you're here with me, and that I'll be the only person that will be able to see both of sides of you...
