A loud clatter echoed through the old walls of Cackles Academy. A tall woman appeared out of nowhere.
"Oh, hello Constance" a smaller woman greeted her while fumbling on the floor.
"Could you be any louder if you tried, Miss Drill" Constance snapped. Miss Drill was still crawling about on the floor avoiding all eye contact with Constance.
"Oh right, sorry. Just lost track of time. Night" Miss Drill tried to run from the situation but only got to the top of the stairs before Constance caught her. Looking her right in the eye, the older woman was shocked to discover a faint bruise.
"What happened to your face?" She asked slightly more concerned. The other woman looked down avoiding the question completely.
"Imogen, did Serge hit you?" lifting the blonde's chin making their eyes meet once again.
Without even thinking Imogen took the taller woman's cheek in her hand and kissed her. Neither pulled away, instead Constance deepened the kiss by pulling the shorter woman closer to her. Once both woman could no longer breath they broke apart.
"I'm sorry, I just I'm sorry, right erm goodnight Miss Hardbroom" Miss Drill blabbered foolishly. Miss Hardbroom stood there after she had left and placed her fingers on her lips. Remembering its last and sweetest touch.
"You don't need to apologize, Imogen. You beautiful woman" Constance whispered to herself, before heading towards the beautiful woman's room.
What neither women realized was, that a certain Mildred Hubble had been awoken by the clatter and had just witnessed something she never could imagine she'd see. Slowly walking to her room she wondered would anything change. Would a companion for HB make her kinder and nicer? Mildred shook her head, HB would always be the same and to be honest nobody would want her to change.
The young witch sunk down into her bed and snuggled against her trusted cat, Tabby.
