Victoire Weasley's favorite color was always green.

Green. It was the color of the long grass around the cottage that she loved running through and getting muddy in. And it was the color of the pretty little flowers that she made crowns out of. And green was the color of the leaves on the tall tree that stood in the distance, by the water, guarding over Dobby the house elf's grave.

She liked wearing green dresses. Or skirts. Or shirts. Or really anything that was green. Maman tried to show her sweet pink dresses. Or blue shirts and red skirts. Or really anything that wasn't green. But wearing green made Victoire feel part of the world. Like the long grass she loved running through. And the pretty little flowers she made crowns out of. And even the tall tree that protected Dobby the house elf's grave.

Victoire was stubborn, so she kept on wearing her green dresses and shirts and skirts. Even though Maman didn't like her running through the soft grass, she kept on running and getting muddy and making her pretty little flower crowns. And despite Maman's wishes, she continued visiting Dobby's grave in order to assist the tall tree in keeping the house elf safe.

When she began her time at Hogwarts, and was sorted into Gryffindor, she kept wearing her favorite color. She was forced to endure jabs from her fellow house mates and the Slytherins who also wore her color, but she didn't mind. During her free time, she'd plant herself in the long grass outside of the castle. There she'd make crowns out of pretty little flowers and imagine that she was back home, helping the tall tree watch over the grave she'd grown to love.

And when Victoire Weasley was married to Teddy Lupin, she made sure the ceremony was held in that very spot by the water – underneath the tall tree so that both it and Dobby the house elf could witness this event. Even if her wedding gown wasn't green, her bridesmaids did wear her favorite color. And within her bouquet of red roses, there were vivid green flowers mixed in, much like the one her groom wore on the front of his tux. Not only did he wear a green flower, but Teddy also kept his hair turquoise the entire ceremony (which is rather close to the color green, mind you).

Years later, when their first child came along, Victoire allowed her to run through the long grass that surrounded the cottage once owned by Bill and Fleur, getting muddy all the while. She let her make pretty little flower crowns, too. And at the end of the day, Victoire and her daughter – muddy with flowers atop her head – would sit underneath the tall tree and help guard Dobby the house elf's grave until the young girl fell asleep wrapped up in her own Maman's arms.
