"Look Max, I can see Knott's Berry Farm!" said Angel. I looked down. I could see several roller coasters, as well as a lot of smaller rides.

"Max, can we go there? PLEASE?" Nudge begged.

"No." was my response. Just the thought of going to an amusement park made my stomach churn. I still remember last time I let the Flock visit a theme park-

Angel was staring at me. "It won't be like Disney World," she stated. "Nobody's following us."

Now Nudge was staring at me. "Yeah, Max. Can we? Please? PLEASE? It would be SO much fun! We could go on all the rides, and maybe we could catch a show, and get some cotton candy! I've never had cotton candy…"

Turns out, she was doing Bambi eyes. And of course, I made the mistake of looking at her. So, naturally, we ended up flying down. The kids had a lot of fun, though. So I guess it was worth it. Fang and Iggy went on a few roller coasters, which was cool. Fang actually smiled!

As I was sitting on a bench, watching Nudge on this little ride called Wipeout, Angel came over, and sat down beside me. She looked up at me with her blue eyes.

"Why don't you go on anything, Max? There are lots of cool rides. You'll love them!"

"I don't want to." I replied. Frankly, I was scared just looking at some of them.

This time, Angel used her mind control powers. "Come on Max. Just one. That one," the six-year-old pleaded, and pointed to a large white tower. Written on a sign below it was Supreme Scream.

Crap, I thought. That was one of the ones I was scared of. I got off the bench, gave Angel an evil-looking glare, and got in the line.

The thing about Supreme Scream that scared me wasn't the height, or the fact that you climb to almost 100 feet, then reach the ground in a little over four seconds. No, the thing that scared me most was the fact that you're stuck. You can hardly move.

So anyway, as I'm going up, I'm thinking, Okay, can't scream. You don't want the rest of the Flock thinking you're a scaredy-cat.

"Fear is natural, Max. You can't deny it. Fear is inside all of us. Fear is-"

"Shut up, Voice. I don't need you butting in right now."

"You always need me, Max. You will always need-"

"I SAID SHUT UP!"

After that, there was no reply. I was now reaching the top. I thought, what the heck, Angel can read my mind anyway, so they'll already know I'm scared.

I heard the click of the release mechanism, and felt the rush of the wind blowing my tangled hair straight up. I let out a scream, so loud that I think Fang and Iggy heard it. And they were on the other side of the park.

I had now landed on the ground. What I didn't expect was that I would be tossed up another 3 times. I screamed even more. By the time it was over, I was so scared I didn't think I was gong to be able to stand. But I made it back to the bench, where the Flock was all staring at me, their faces wearing expressions of shock, surprise, and amusement.

I had the nerve to ask, "Why are you all staring at me?"

"I don't think I've ever heard you scream," Iggy stated. "At first, I thought it was Nudge, but Fang said it was you, so we came over to find you screaming like well- Nudge."

I glared at Iggy. "I'm glaring at you, Iggy," I informed him.

Then Nudge started up. "Okay, For one thing not even I scream that high-pitched. And another, that was so funny, because you rarely scream, and the fact that you scream on a theme park ride…"
