Author's note: So this poem is inspired by Buffy and Spike. It really came out no where. and I wanted to see if anyone liked it. It doesn't rythme or anything, it's just ne of those poems that paints a picture. I would appreciate some feedback on it. Tell me what you think. Thanks for reading. Enjoy.

Disclaimer: This poem is completely mine. Inspired by Joss Whedon's character from Buffy the Vampire slayer.

Moonlight

Shadows dance against the pale silver moonlight. Lean and graceful. His silhouette moving with the darkness. A whisper against the wind. Rough leather trailing against the cool grass. The smallest snap of a twig. The faintest rustling of a leaf. Cerulean eyes piercing emerald-chocolate. Gleaming stars twinkling against the midnight sky. Quiet sighs and soft satin skin all hidden against the cover of night.

Dawn breaks and the dreamer must sleep but night will come for him again. She is the only thing that keeps him still in the shade of the sky. Even the sun is dim in comparison to her effulgence. He longs for her lips to brush his. And for her warmth to settle over him. He counts the hours, the minutes, the seconds. All the same. Just passing time. So he waits.

Sun set. Brilliant swaths of orange and purple intertwined in the sky above. Feathered wings fold till dawn and budding flowers shed their pedals.

Her eyes dart back and forth searching for his figure. Old memories and pain flitting through her mind while she waits. But he appears as soon as the sun sets and she sighs with relief. For he is not the same as the others and will always be. Their fingers intertwine and they lay back intoxicated by the other's presence. Together under the moonlight.
