Sometimes, when strange things happen, nobody questions them. No matter how unlikely, how unexplained, how contradictory, sometimes strange things happen and are just accepted as part of what makes the world go round. Tidal waves. True love. Telepathy. Sometimes strange things had a pattern. Sometimes, they weren't just flukes and one offs, but happened again and again.

Sometimes, Kyle and Cartman are there for each other.

Is Cartman there?

I'm here, Kyle!

They hated each other. That couldn't be denied, compromised or argued with. They hated each other with such ferocity they sometimes couldn't see past it.

Kyle was Jewish, and a good person. Cartman was the polar opposite. Kyle had encouraged Cartman to jump off a roof. Cartman had given Kyle AIDS. Yes, they hated each other, but still, sometimes, somehow, they were there for each other.

Kyle had saved Cartman from drowning. Cartman had saved Kyle from the smug storm.

Is Cartman there?

I'm here, Kyle!

Those words kept coming back to him, maddeningly, meaninglessly, over and over, from when they were by that damn cave. He couldn't even remember how it happened. He could barely remember anything from that day. It held no significance for him.

Is Cartman there?

I'm here, Kyle!

The sincerity of his words. How they sometimes stuck by each other. It symbolised them perfectly. As much as they hated each other, as strange as it was, if they asked each other to be there, they would be.

Sometimes.

Pointless et boring, but I had to get it out of my head.

I deliberately didn't name the narrator, so you can decide if it's Cartman or Kyle. Personally, I think it's more likely to be Kyle, but it's up to you ^_^
