A/N: Written for the prompt Sleeping on the couch for Theatrical Muse
When I worked for the Bozeman Police Department in Montana, I slept on a few victims couches. Living in a small town, you get to know people on a more personal level. They trusted me enough to keep them safe during the night, or at least I gave them the feeling of security, sleeping on their couch.
Living in New York, I've slept on a few couches too. Stella's after she had to kill her boyfriend in self defense, but the whole team took turns with that.
And of course Danny's. After Louie was beaten, he asked me to stay with him. After Ruben was killed he didn't want me around much, but I used the key I had been given and slept on his couch when he was asleep, just in case he needed something in the middle of the night. He was never upset when he realized I was there, in fact he would come out, wake me up, take my hand and lead me to the bedroom, and then he would just hold me the rest of the night.
Sleeping on the couch isn't something I enjoy doing, but when someone needs me too, I will gladly do it. I've even had a few people sleep on my couch a time or two too.
