I don't own anybody or anything in this fiction. I'm not making any money on it, and I don't have any money so don't bother suing me.
Things had finally settled down. The group assembled at the table knew that they had been lucky to prevent the apocalypse, and that they needed to work together and establish some formal ties. After a long meeting the accord had been hammered out and all that remained was a wrapping up of the details.
"Well, that seems to settle the question about access points. I assume that we will be using AACR2?" the man said while wiping his glasses. His accent was easily identifiable as British.
The dark haired woman looked up from the documents that they had been working on. "It seems to make the most sense. Why don't we restate what we've agreed to just to make sure all of us are on the same page?"
"Right." He put his glasses back on and started to order the documents on the table. "We've agreed that you and your husband will take primary responsibility for Egyptian artifacts. If any of us find anything that revolves around Egypt, we will send it to you through secure channels."
"Hold on for a second. Can we word that so that SGC will be notified about any artifacts so we can visit the collection to make sure that it deals only with terrestrial threats? No offense meant Lady O'Connell."
"I don't have any problems with that Dr. Jackson. I'll be happy to hear a second opinion on any of the artifacts. Imhotep is one thing, aliens are another."
"Secondly," the man said pushing his glasses up on his nose, "I'll take responsibility for any artifacts and/or manuscripts dealing with vampires, demons, and apocalyptic prophecies. Copies will be sent to the library by courier."
"That's fine with us Mr. Giles. We agree to house any of the more flamboyant artifacts, and upon receiving a request I'll transport any artifact to the necessary parties."
"Won't that be cumbersome Mr. Carsen?"
"Not at all, I travel extensively for the library anyway. What is a stop here in Sunnydale going to matter in the long run? As long as you don't expect me to deliver after sunset, that is."
"That would be above and beyond the call of duty."
"Speaking of duty, who are the couriers going to be."
Lady O'Connell spoke up, "It depends on which library is doing the sending. For myself and my husband we'll either transport items ourselves or you can expect one of the Medji. Is that acceptable?"
Dr. Jackson nodded. "It is fine with us; just remember that you are going to have to wait for me the entrance. If I send anything it is going to be either in person, or it will come via the US Air force"
Giles added, "If the item is coming from me it will be sent with a Slayer. Remember, if you send anything to me, do so during daylight hours."
"Finally, the SGC agrees to host our ILL network."
"That's correct. Between our built in security, and the added security program that you had your people design for us, it would take a lot of work to compromise our system. Hopefully by the time the hacker got what they wanted one of our respective groups would be at their door asking what they wanted." Daniel Jackson tried to wipe the smirk from his face, but didn't quite succeed.
"Before we leave, I think we should agree to meet once a year to discuss any changes that might need to be made to the accords. I'd also like to volunteer to host the next meeting."
Giles spoke up, "I think that is an excellent suggestion. Shall we tentatively schedule for next year now."
Everyone nodded and they all got up to leave.
