Hey guys! First off, I want to apologize for not updating. I don't think I will be updating that much anymore. I just think that my fanfics aren't that great and confusing, but I do have another one for you. This one is an Agents of Shield fanfiction. Specifically, Fitzsimmons. But I want to warn you that if you haven't watched last night's episode, Season 5 episode 14 Devils Complex, then be warned that there are major spoilers for that episode. This episode just broke me. Especially since Fitz is my favorite character. If you have watched it please tell me what you thought of the episode because I really need someone to talk to about it (no one in my family watches it). Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Note: Chapter one is my take on some of the events in the episode. Sorry if they aren't correct.

Chapter 1:

Simmons stood in front of Fitz's cell. Fitz sat on his bed with his back towards her. Simmons didn't say anything as tears fell down her face.

"Why?" Is all she could say.

Fitz sighed before answering, "I-I needed to do it. It just-" he sighed once again and stood up, facing Simmons. "I just can't even imagine what the team is feeling right now. Mack's injured, Daisy's traumatized, and you... But you know what the worst part is? I still think what I did was right." Simmons nodded.

"Maybe it was."

"Come on, Jemma. Only a monster should think what I have done is right. A monster who doesn't deserve forgiveness. A monster who doesn't-"

"Who doesn't deserve me?" Simmons cut in. Fitz looked down at his feet. "I refuse to believe that. The man I have known for 12 years is not a monster. The man I love is not a monster. The man I married is not a monster." Fitz looked up at her.

"Your right, Jemma, he's not. But this man," He pointed at himself. "Is a monster." Simmons drew in a shaky breath. "The man you knew is gone. Dead." Simmons closed her eyes as tears fell down her face.

"That's not true." She whispered.

"You probably want this." Fitz hesitated before taking off his wedding ring. Simmons let out a sob. "Maybe it's for the best." Fitz said, without looking her in the eyes. "I'm so sorry, Jemma." He whispered. Fitz dropped the ring in a box which slid out so Simmons could grab it. "I'm so sorry." Simmons took the ring. She looked at him, but he didn't meet her gaze. Instead, he walked over to his bed and sat down.

"Goodbye Fitz." Simmons whispered before walking away.

...

Simmons sat against the wall, hugging her knees. She silently cried. Deke walked over to her.

"I... don't even know what to say. I can't even imagine what you two are going through right now." Deke said, quietly. Simmons didn't look up at him, but nodded.

"It feels... I don't even know how to describe it. He's losing himself which means I'm... losing him." Deke sat down next to her and placed his hand on her arm. Simmons turned to him, tears rolling down her face.

"It's my greatest fear come to... life." She thought for a moment then furrowed her brow. "Wait a minute."

"What?" Deke asked.

"My greatest fear come to life." She whispered, not looking at him. She then shot her head up and ran towards the hall.

"Jemma! Where are you going?!" But she was already gone.

...

Simmons reached Fitz's cell. She typed in some numbers and the door slid open. Fitz turned to her, confused.

"Jemma, what are you-" Fitz started, but then he saw the gun that Simmons was aiming at him. "-woah! Jemma!" He out his hands up in defense. "Why are you pointing a gun at me?!"

"Where is he?" She asked.

"Who? What are you talking about?"

"Where's Fitz?"

"What do you mean?! I'm right here!"

"You're not him."

Right before she fired the gun, Fitz yelled, "Jemma! No!" Fitz fell to the floor.

That's all I have for you all today, but let me know if you want me to make a second chapter. Thanks for reading!
