Prologue

Three worlds lay connected only by a thin veil, with only two being connected since the dawn of time. The third was an unknown, but was still recognized by the second world. The first had no idea it existed. Now, three worlds lay in the balance as a new enemy prepares to arise and lay claim to two of them while the third is wiped from existence.

Two teams are the only thing standing in the way of this enemy's forces, with each one being connected to two of the three worlds, sharing only the Human world in common with each other.

But can they work together to stop this evil force? Or will it claim all three worlds and take them over?

Earth…

The Ghost Zone…

The Digital World…

Three worlds, all interconnected. Earth and the Ghost Zone have been connected since the beginning of time. But, as humanity advanced, residual ectoplasm began to coalesce, forming around data fragments that were emitted by humanity's technology. This energy began to take on solid form, but because it was human-made, the data, the ectoplasm lost all of its ghost-like properties, taking on more human-like formation. But, because of its origins, the new world's digital DNA was more flexible, not confined to a human-like form. Thus, the Digital World was born.

The Ghost Zone's inhabitants knew of this new world, but they could not travel to it, as they wouldn't live for very long amongst the data that made it up. The inhabitants of the new world could go to the Ghost Zone however, but very few ever made the attempt.

Likewise, the Human world could not head to this new world, as they were not connected like Earth was to the Ghost Zone.

But a new foe now arises to take on the challenge of conquering all three. And only two teams of fighters stand in its way of that goal…

"Do you really have to leave?" An eight year-old Danny Fenton asked as his older cousin looked back at him and his twin brother Andy.

"Mom doesn't want another incident like last week's." The nine year-old replied as he looked at his younger family members. "That's why we're moving to Japan. Well, that and mom got transferred for her job."

Danny hugged his older cousin as if to say no, Andy joining him. "Will we see you again?" The green-eyed boy asked as their cousin smiled.

"Of course, buddy. Just not as often. But I will be back for Christmas and days like your birthday." Their cousin replied. He placed a hand on Danny's hair. "And you can contact me over the phone too."

"But it's not the same!" Danny wailed, clinging even tighter to his cousin's form.

"I know, but I can't change it." His cousin replied sadly. "I have to go now. Mom's waving me over."

He pulled Danny's and Andy's smaller hands off his waist and began to leave. Danny and Andy could only watch in sadness as their cousin's form seemed to vanish into the setting sun, never to be seen again…

Danny Phantom: NEW DIVIDE!

Chapter One: Mysterious Dreams

"Everything is fine; everything is the way it's supposed to be. This is part of the timeline, it needs to happen, everything happens for a reason."

It was dark. Andy couldn't see anything or anyone. He didn't recognize the voice, but he still tried to look around to see if he could find this mysterious person talking to him.

"Who's there?" Andy asked and his voice echoed throughout the darkness.

But the voice didn't answer him. Instead a different voice spoke out but it wasn't directed to him. Rather it was directed at the other voice Andy heard.

"You do realize how dangerous it is to have a human, a teenager, have this kind of power don't you?"

"I know what I am doing and he isn't the first human to have this special condition."

"No, but that doesn't make him less dangerous and a potential threat to both the human world and the Ghost Zone."

"Ah, but if he does go out of control, they will get involved, now won't they?"

Andy had no idea what they were talking about, but it sounded serious… and why was he hearing this? He had a feeling he shouldn't be there right now… wherever 'there' was.

"It was fate, destiny, that chose this for the boy and perhaps eventually for his other half. After all, twins need to be beside each other in just about everything, but they must learn not to depend on each other so much right now, which is why it only happened to one of them for the moment." said the first voice and Andy had a strong feeling it was talking about him and Danny.

"Are you saying the boy's twin brother may end up the same way? You cannot let that happen."

The first voice didn't answer right away and Andy was wondering what they were talking about, that is until he heard the first voice speak up again, "It's going to happen whether you want it to or not."

"Why am I here?" Andy asked out loud hoping someone would answer him.

He was actually surprised when the first voice answered him. "Your brother has a special purpose in life young Andy. Do you think you can keep up with him?"

"What? What do you mean?" Andy asked, feeling more confused than ever now.

"You will find out in due time."

Before Andy could ask anymore he felt someone shaking him.

"Andy… Andy, wake up."

Andy slowly opened his eyes when he heard his mom's voice and she was gently shaking his shoulder. Andy looked up to see he was still in the hospital and he had fallen asleep against the chair and his mom… why didn't she wake him sooner?

"Mom?" Andy stifled a yawn and saw Jazz and Dad was already awake and drinking smoothies.

"Glad to see you're finally awake sweetie. Anyway the doctor just came in and checked your brother. His vitals are stable but he's still in a coma." Maddie explained as Andy tried to shake the grogginess out of his head, the mysterious dream forgotten for the moment.

Andy looked over to the bed his brother was sleeping in and noticed the breathing mask over his face was gone. He guessed the doctors figured he didn't need it anymore, but he still had the IV hooked on his arm. Andy couldn't help but wonder how long he would be out… not too long he hoped. Andy remembered reading people in comas could stay like that for days, weeks, months… even years, but he refused to think Danny would be out for that long. He would get better and he would wake up soon.

"Did they say how long he'll be like this?" Andy asked his mom weakly.

Maddie gave him a sad smile as she patted his hair, "No, they don't know how long he'll be out like this. we can only wait and pray he'll wake up soon."

Andy sighed and just nodded. He didn't really know what else to do. This was the first time since they were born that they were separated like this… mentally. They had never been separate physically or mentally for so long before. When Danny slept, so did Andy, where Danny went, he would go with him. It just felt so wrong with him awake and with Danny still asleep.

Andy grumbled as he shook his head and felt a headache forming. He could only wonder what was going to happen now.

"Are you going to be okay Andy? I know this is especially hard for you since Danny is your twin and I've read that if something drastic happen to one of the twins the other would feel the strain of it too." Jazz asked her brother in concern and Andy frowned a bit as he removed his hand from his aching head.

"I'll be fine just as long as my brother wakes up soon." Andy said as he tried to stand up, but he felt dizzy for some reason… why was the room spinning?

"You don't look fine." Jazz said as she watched him.

"Don't worry about me; worry about the brother who got zapped almost to death." Andy said, a bit annoyed that she was starting to get a little paranoid around him when it was Danny who was in the coma.

Okay, so maybe he felt a little nausea and his head was hurting, but it was probably just stress from all this and nothing to worry about. But then suddenly Andy saw the floor just come up to his face before he could react. He heard gasps from his parents and sister… He figured he just fell to the floor, but it didn't really hurt… he felt numb.

"Andy!" Mom quickly picked him up and Andy looked at her… why are there two of her?

Suddenly the younger twin felt something cold on his forehead and she gasped. "You're burning up! You have a fever Andy!"

"Stop shouting." Andy grumbled feeling that her loud shouts were giving him more headaches.

"I knew you weren't fine. We better take you home." Andy heard Jazz say and he quickly shook his head, which he wished he hadn't.

"No, I can't leave my brother."

"Look at you! You're a mess! You need to go home and rest before you end up in the same coma as your brother." Maddie scolded him.

"Mom, let me take him home." Andy heard Jazz say and he found himself too weak to protest anymore and just felt his eyelids falling… falling… darkness.

Andy could see meat flying around the school… why was there so much meat?

"LUNCH IS SACRED! LUNCH HAS RULES! NOBODY CHANGES MY MENU!"

Who was that? She sounded angry… she was floating and… she turned into some kind of meat monster. Then he saw… a boy… he looked very similar to Danny and himself… only his hair was white, he had a mostly black and white hazmat suit and his eyes… they were glowing green and he had some kind of glowing aura around him… who was he? Andy felt like he should know him, yet he didn't. Was he… a ghost too?

"Forget it! The only one who has an expiration date here is you!" The ghost kid shouted as he looked like he was trying to protect someone but Andy couldn't see who.

Suddenly Andy heard a loud roar and spun around to see a big blue and green dragon. It was huge! But… it had this aura around it… Was it a ghost too?

As Andy continued to watch he saw the ghost boy fighting with it. "Tea? Oh great idea, coffee can make you a bit jittery or better yet… how about some PUNCH?"

The ghost dragon soon disappeared and suddenly Andy saw a cybernetic robot ghost with a flaming green Mohawk and he seemed to be hunting down the ghost boy.

"I am Skulker, a collector of all things rare and unique, and you, ghost child, are that and more."

What made the ghost boy anymore unique than the other ghosts? Andy didn't understand… but he kept seeing him everywhere.

Then, the scene changed to show a form in red and gold armor wearing a black body suit. Andy could see this newcomer didn't have the glow of a ghost, which made him wonder why the newcomer was even here.

He saw a nerdy ghost this time and he pointed at the ghost boy as if in shock.

"Holy socks! You're the Halfa!"

Andy didn't know what the heck a 'Halfa' was, but it sounded like the ghost was saying he was… half of a… something.

What was going on? Andy didn't know… Was any of this for real or not? He couldn't tell… it felt real yet not at the same time. Andy felt like he was not really there yet it felt real enough to be

"I am Desiree, what is your wish? So you have wished it, so it shall be."

"Imagine my surprise when I discovered you, the second ghost hybrid his foolishness created!"

"Now I get it…That vampire-like ghost was you!"

"Ignorance of the law doesn't give you the excuse of breaking it punk, if I see your face again you and I are going to have a problem. That's against the rules."

"It's a shame I can do the same to you and your kind."

"Teen misery is the nectar that keeps me looking fabulous! Your doubt, your misery, it's delicious!"

Andy kept hearing so many different voices and he found he didn't recognize any of them, but then he heard Jazz's voice.

"Danny!? Did you see that? Please tell me I didn't just see what I saw!"

What? What did she see that got her so shocked? Something about Danny…?

"He can tell me when he's ready. I'll always be proud of you Danny."

Andy didn't understand… why was she so proud of him? What did he do?

Andy suddenly found himself falling from the sky. He didn't know why or how, but he was falling. He couldn't move or even scream. Andy was just falling and he could see the ghost boy. He looked happy and content as he flew around so care freely while Andy was falling to his possible death. Yet he wasn't worried about it. Andy felt envious of the ghost kid as he just flew so carefree like that.

Suddenly, Andy hit the ground… or rather, he hit the water and was now sinking deeper and deeper. He still couldn't get his body to move but at least he could breathe. Andy didn't know how long he was sinking but eventually he stopped and it was so dark he couldn't see anything. Andy wasn't sure if he was underwater anymore.

"I think I know what these powers are for, they make me…" that sounded like his brother Danny, but he didn't finish his sentence and… what did he mean by 'powers'?

Andy looked around the darkness and walked forward, not sure what was compelling him to walk but he kept going.

"It's not your fault Danny." Andy heard Sam's voice.

"Maybe not, but it is my responsibility." Andy heard Danny's voice.

"Dude, it's about time you used your powers for some ghostly get back." He then heard Tucker.

Andy looked up and was surprised when he saw a picture of his brother and he was standing next to that ghost kid he kept seeing… it was almost as if that ghost kid was his twin instead of Andy himself.

And then Andy realized he heard Tucker and Sam's voice, he heard Jazz's and even his brother's but… where was he? Why wasn't he saying anything? Did this mean he wasn't a part of whatever this crazy thing is?

Then suddenly Andy heard that familiar voice from his earlier dream in the hospital. "Your brother has a special purpose in life, young Andy. Do you think you can keep up with him?"

It was more of an echo of what the voice said to him than anything else, but it felt like there's a much deeper meaning to it and Andy still don't know what it was.

What made his brother so special that he would be having trouble keeping up with him? They did everything together and equally. He didn't understand…

"You will in due time." That voice echoed again.

Andy suddenly felt something soft and he opened his eyes to see the ceiling of his and Danny's bedroom… how did he get there? Oh wait… now he remembered; he passed out from fever and Jazz must've taken him home and to his room. Andy groaned as he put a hand over his black hair… what was that weird dream about and why was he getting them lately?

As Andy sat up from his bed a wash cloth fell from his forehead… huh, guess Jazz had been trying to keep the fever down, but he felt fine now. Maybe a little groggy and dizzy but nothing major. Then he felt empty as he looked over to the other side of his room and saw his brother's bed was empty.

Almost as if on cue, the door opened and Jazz was walking in. She looked up and seemed surprised to see him. awake "Oh Andy, I'm glad you've finally woke up. How are you feeling?"

Andy gave her a small smile and answered. "A lot better now. Thanks for looking out for me Jazz."

Jazz smiled warmly as she sat on the bed beside Andy. "What are sisters for? I just couldn't sit back while both of my brothers were unconscious."

Andy nodded and sighed. "How long was I out?"

"Almost for about a day."

Andy would've choked and gagged if he wasn't so focused on his next question. "Any news about our brother?"

Jazz gave her brother a sad look and that was all the answer he needed. "But he will wake up soon, right?"

"I'm sure he will, but we still don't know how long it'll be and Mom and Dad says you have to go to school without Danny for a while… well assuming you're not sick anymore."

School… how can Andy think of school when his twin brother, half of him was lying in the hospital in a coma and possibly his deathbed!? For all he knew, that portal could have been some kind of radiation poison and it was slowly killing him and the doctors were too ignorant to see it!

"Calm down Andy. Danny is going to be okay." Andy heard Jazz's gentle voice and broke his train of thought, which he was actually thankful for seeing where it was heading. Andy guessed he was very tense and his sister noticed it. Of course she did.

"It's just not fair Jazz… I should've been with him… I could've prevented it… all because I left a stupid textbook on the kitchen counter…" Andy grumbled sadly as he pulled his knees up to his face feeling a bit more comforted if he just curled up.

Jazz shook her head. "It's not anyone's fault Andy, nobody could've seen this coming… if you had gone in with him you would've most likely share the same fate as him."

"Well… maybe I should've Jazz… I'm his twin. We complete each other and I can't stand the thought of going on without him Jazz. It just… it's like asking a cat to play the piano; it just can't be done and it goes against nature!" Andy knew he was saying those through desperation but he firmly believed every word he had said.

"… I know this is very hard for you Andy. It's hard for all of us, but there comes a time when we all have to do something on our own… and I think that time has come for you. You'll just have to go through a few days of school without Danny. I know you can do it, and I'm sure Tucker and Sam will be more than happy to help you out."

Andy knew Jazz was just trying to reassure him, but he still didn't want to do it… it was bad enough being here at home without his brother, but now he had to go through school without him too? Dash was going to pulverize him twice as hard to make up for the fact that his other favorite punching bag would be unable to attend, and even if he wouldn't Andy still just couldn't stand the thought of going anywhere without his twin… it just didn't feel right.

"Jazz… I just want my brother to wake up and talk to me again." Andy said sadly as he leaned on her and felt his eyes starting to close unwillingly… why was he so sleepy?

The last thing Andy heard was his sister's gentle voice whisper in his ear. "I know Andy, me too."

Darkness surrounded Andy as he opened his eyes. Great…more darkness…A bright light flashed in the distance and Andy had to shield his eyes as the light enveloped his vision. Lowering his arms, Andy could see a castle that looked like it was right out of a fairytale, never mind the fact that it was in a tree.

The castle changed to show the interior, where Andy could see three glowing forms, two of which had wings and one that didn't. Three voices were heard, one male, one female, and one gruff, but kind male.

"We must send the blood relative of the Halfling."

"The Warriors have to be sent."

"But the Halfling's twin is still in the dark…"

Andy blinked. Blood relative of the Halfling? What did these forms mean? Suddenly, the forms vanished from view as darkness sped into his line of sight again. Andy looked back as a red glow emitted from behind him. There was an odd symbol behind him, but the red glow it gave off was not sinister in any way. Rather, it felt…warm…

He reached out to touch the symbol, only for it to shatter into shards of red light. Amongst the shards, Andy could see a form shrouded in shadow, but with the same red symbol on it and two vivid, yet fierce, blue eyes.

Andy was suddenly falling again, much to his dismay. This time though, six symbols appeared below him, circling around him. One was red, one was yellow, one was green, one was purple, one was white, and one was lavender. "Destiny has chosen your brother, Andrew." The female voice spoke to him directly, making Andy perk up. "But you can keep up. Don't give in when you might want to, and you may learn in time what he is hiding from you."

At least someone had confidence in him, he mused with a mental snort.

"You will have help while he does not. Just remember that, Andrew."

The female voice faded before the symbols around him flared and white light enveloped him…

Andy groaned as he woke up, not looking forward to the day at school. It felt too weird to be going to school without his twin, but he had to.

The day seemed to blur together, but school itself was all too vivid for Andy. He found he couldn't focus during his classes, and well, gym was the worst since it was dodgeball day. At least Andy found he was able to get a jock out of the game, even if his team lost in the end. Chemistry was just a blur as well, aside from the vision Andy had of Dash's 'monster' side, and he had been experiencing a headache all day. When his mom and dad came to take him home, Andy insisted he was well enough to see if his twin was awake. And much to his delight, Danny did wake up.

Of course, the doctor wanted to check Andy over, and after being shoved into a hospital room, Andy found himself feeling sleepy again and dozed off. It seemed he had been doing a lot of that lately…

"Imagine my surprise when I found you here; the second hybrid his foolishness has created." Andy jolted up when he heard an unfamiliar voice… no scratch that, he knew he heard it somewhere before though briefly.

"I could teach you and show you all the techniques you could learn, and all you have to do is renounce your idiot father."

Who was this fruitloop?

"We are special because we are not like other ghosts, we're alive and yet we're also dead, and this makes us far stronger and superior to other ghosts and humans on this planet."

Geez…whoever this guy was, he sure had one heck of an ego.

"Because Daniel, you are special."

Wait… Daniel? As in his brother?

Andy then perked up when he heard another voice, one that sounded familiar and yet not at the same time.

"No one's claiming anyone's lives!"

Judging by the tone, the person sounded angry, but why? Andy couldn't figure that out.

"You don't know the power I have backing me up!"

Whoever it was, they sounded like they had some powerful allies.

"Let's just say I have faced far more powerful opponents than you."

Andy could only wonder who this guy was. Based on what he was hearing, this person had fought powerful enemies, but who, and who was this person he was hearing?

Then another voice spoke, "You're a hero and you're unique Danny, never forget that."

Then Andy heard the voice of his sister again, "I'm just worried for you Danny but I'm also proud of you."

Oh great, this again? Once again he was not included in all these weird visions and voices so why the heck was he even seeing it?

"Your brother is bound for great things young Andrew. Can you keep up with him?" Then there was that first voice he heard and he was the only one who was acknowledging him so far.

"What's happening?" Andy asked aloud.

The scene changed to show the six symbols from before, each glowing their respective color before flaring and fading from view. Andy felt himself falling again, only to see the ghost boy flying around in a carefree manner while he fell to his death.

Andy was unable to say anything, but in response, he heard that female voice again. "Do not give up, Andrew. Your brother was chosen by destiny, but you can keep up. You will have help that he does not. Remember that, Andrew."

The symbols spun around him as he fell, the ghost boy flying around with no care in the world. Andy felt envious of him. How could the ghost boy fly around without caring about anything while he was falling to his doom? Then, a hand suddenly shot out of the shadows and grabbed onto his, halting his fall. Andy looked up, only to see a hand gloved in black fabric with what appeared to be a silver cuff on it holding his own. The rest of the form was in shadow. Andy blinked once before squinting his eyes to try and make out the form, but it was too covered in darkness. Then, the hand dissipated into nothing but flames and Andy fell once more before light enveloped him completely…

Andy woke up and was soon cleared by the doctor, but it was odd going home without Danny again.

Again, he fell asleep in the GAV, but this time, his dream would be anything unlike he had experienced.

He was walking… He was soaking wet. The ground he was walking on was filled with water. Andy had no idea where he was; the last thing he remembered was sitting in the GAV (Ghost Assault Vehicle) or the Fenton RV heading home and now he was out here alone and wet. Did his mom and dad leave him out there? No… they wouldn't do that… but why was he here? Where is 'here'?

Andy kept walking. He felt cold yet numb, the water felt knee deep but it was too dark for him to see yet he still kept going, hoping he could find his way back home somehow or find his mom and dad. Andy still don't know how he ended up out there. It was too dark to be Amity Park, even at midnight some people would still be awake and there was always light in the city, so why was it so dark, wet and cold and… lonely?

Then Andy saw light up ahead. The light felt warm, dry and comfy. Andy ran towards it, hearing the water under him splash. But when he got closer he noticed people were around it, and finally when he got close he realized the light was a warm fire and the people gathered around it were the people he knew; his mom, dad, Jazz, Sam and Tucker. Danny was sitting in the middle closest to the fire.

They were sitting in a circle with Danny in the middle and they all looked happy and cheerful. Andy approached them, wanting to be a part of this happy, warm circle and away from the cold, wet lonely darkness. But when he tried to talk to them he found out his voice wouldn't work; no sound came out of his mouth whatsoever, so Andy tried getting their attention by touching them. He put his hand on Jazz's shoulder. She turned and looked at him, gave Andy a small smile but then she turned back to Danny and the fire without giving him any second thought.

Andy looked at her wondering when she would let him through so he could dry off, but to his dismay she continued to ignore him, almost as if she just forgot he was here. He tried getting her attention again but she only smiled at him before she turned back around without moving. Andy tried again with Tucker, Sam, Maddie and Jack. All of them just smiled at him before turning back around, forgetting he was here. Andy tried getting Danny's attention by waving around his hands, but to no avail.

Danny seemed to be smiling contently, but when he saw Andy he frowned a bit, almost troubled but then he stood up and suddenly disappeared. Andy's eyes went wide as he just literally vanished. His mom and dad stood up looking around looking as confused as Andy was before they ran off somewhere, leaving Tucker and Sam… and Jazz there. Jazz looked around at first but then stopped and relaxed as if she knew what was going on. Since their mom and dad were gone Andy decided to sit with them near the fire to dry off and warm up.

However, when Andy sat down, Tucker and Sam suddenly stood up, looking almost battle ready and then ran off somewhere, leaving him and Jazz there with the fire. Andy looked over to Jazz, wondering why none of them could talk and where did everyone go and he really hoped she wouldn't disappear on him too. To Andy's relief she didn't disappear. Instead she gave her brother a bigger smile, a much warmer one, and she held his hand and nodded.

She let his hand go and Andy suddenly found himself falling! He tried screaming for help and looked up to see Jazz looking worried but otherwise did nothing to save him. As Andy was falling he saw Danny again but his brother looked at Andy sadly before turning his back to him and began running off. Andy tried reaching out to him but he kept running further and further away. Danny… stop… where are you going? Then Andy felt a splash as he had fallen into the dark and freezing water, drowning…

Then, as he felt like he was drowning, Andy felt a sudden surge of warmth as a hand lashed out from the shadows and grabbed onto his own. It was as if the water had evaporated into nothing, as Andy realized he could breathe once more. Looking up, Andy could see that same hand from earlier, but this time, the form appeared as if it was blurry, with some parts visible. He could see the silvery cuff and the black fabric on the hand, but this time, Andy could see parts of red armor. The figure pulled on his hand gently, as if pulling Andy to safety. As Andy seemed to feel relief, the figure dissipated into flames once more, and Andy fell back into the freezing water…

Andy woke up at home and went through school as usual before he and his parents went to pick up Danny from the hospital. Andy couldn't explain it, but it was like his twin was different somehow, almost as if he had become wild and untamed, like a wild horse. And as the days passed, Andy found his twin and friends were excluding him from the group. He desperately wanted to know what was going on, but sadly, no one would explain it to him.

As he ate lunch alone again that day, Andy wondered if there was anyone he could talk to about this. Valerie was an option, but she was A-list and didn't really speak to him unless they passed each other in the halls. It was times like this he wished his and Danny's older cousin hadn't moved away. Then he would have someone to talk to…and yet, in an ironic coincidence, Andy would get his wish the next day…
