For Ana because hey, she likes Draco (a lot)

Narcissa had given birth to a nightmare. At least, she thought it was like a nightmare, from what she remembered. She hadn't slept in so long that she couldn't remember what a nightmare even was. It wasn't even that her son cried all night, he just didn't want to sleep. Ever. Every night he would just sit up in his bed and stare up into his mother's eyes, waiting for her to entertain him. When Draco saw that it was clear that Narcissa wasn't going to do anything with him, he would entertain himself by throwing his bottle at Narcissa's face. When Narcissa expressed her concern of Draco's insomnia to Lucius, he just laughed, kissed her and said,

"That's our little rascal."

When Draco learned how to run, Lucius got the bad end of the deal. Narcissa always seemed to be 'busy' and couldn't watch him, so Lucius was stuck with the job. Draco would run over anything, jumping heights that were definitely feats of accidental magic in Lucius's eyes. Whenever Narcissa would pass Lucius trying to get Draco off of somewhere high up, like the top of the fridge, she would laugh, kiss him on the cheek and say,

"That's our little rascal."

Draco would always have his two best friends over at the Malfoy Manor, Gregory and Vincent. Gregory and Vincent's parents would also come along and have tea with Lucius and Narcissa. Most of the time, the parents had no idea what game the kids were playing; they would use made up words and their imaginations. Often time, the trio would get into trouble around the house which was no problem for the Malfoys; they had magic to fix anything that broke. The first time the Crabbes and Goyles came to the Malfoy Manor, they were shocked to see how relaxed Lucius and Narcissa when their sons ruined the wall by running into it repeatedly. Lucius fixed the wall with a flick of his wand and when Mrs. Crabbe asked them how they could let their son act so crazily, Narcissa and Lucius looked at each other, smiled and said,

"He's our little rascal."

Narcissa's frown kept on deepening as she continued reading the letter. Her son had lost fifty house points? And gotten detention?

"Lucius, have you read this?" Narcissa asked, holding up the letter. He nodded in response. "Well, do you maybe wonder if our little rascal is a bit too much of a rascal?" Her brow was crease in worry, but Lucius waved a hand.

"Of course not. He's our little rascal."

Narcissa was livid.

"How dare you do this so foolishly? You could've been caught. You could've been expelled. How foolish were you to try it in front of so many people, where you could have been seen, where there were witnesses?"

Draco sunk lower in his chair. A significant amount of color had creeped into his face.

"It would've looked like an accident, if it worked."

Narcissa let out a noise that was almost a growl.

"If! If! That's the key word! If it had worked, but there was zero percent guarantee that it would work."

"I'm sorry, okay? I messed up; I know," Draco said, blinking very fast.

Narcissa's stormy exterior softened at Draco's face. What would Lucius say if he was there?

"It's okay," Narcissa said, bending down to wipe a tear that had fell onto Draco's face. She knew that he was under incredible amounts of pressure; she should be easier on him.

"You're still my little rascal."
