"Any last words," Hatori asked Saki and Uo. They had officially seen far too much of Yuki and Kyo. In other words, the curse was exposed to outsiders, and it was time to pay the price. Hatori was personally going to erase their memories.
"I have a final statement," Saki said in her usual monotone voice. It was the end. It was all over. She cast away the ideas and began to speak. "No matter what the events of today, I am still, and will be…happy. Knowing that Tohru has a family and she's loved, well that's all I ever wanted for her. And even if I don't remember the Sohmas', I still approve of you strange electric signals." Saki nodded to Uo as tears silently rolled down her cheeks. Then, Uo gathered up her thoughts and began.
"I thought I always knew and understood Tohru completely. She and Kyoko felt like family to me. But, ever since Kyoko died…well there was always something troubling or depressing in her expressions. It was almost like a hole that needed to be filled. I guess that's why she used to work her butt off. She thought that work would get her mind off all of her pain, but it wasn't enough. But then, she started living with Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure. A whole new meaning was brought to Tohru's life, and even Saki and I noticed a new 'spring in her step' if that's what you want to call it. Now, I totally understand everything. Even if I will never remember this moment, or the Sohma family, something inside of me will know that Tohru is happy."
Now both Saki and Uo were crying, Uo being much louder than Saki. Hatori tried to speak, but was drowned out in Uo's sobs. Then he cleared his throat over both of their sobs so that he could be heard.
"Sounds like you would do anything for Tohru, both of you. Now rest assured, you'll only be forgetting about the zodiac curse. You'll still remember Tohru, and even Yuki and Kyo…" his voice suddenly died off. Hatori was a bit emotional himself. But, it had to be done on Akito's order. Besides, every Sohma knows not to disobey Akito.
He put his hands to Saki and Uo's foreheads.
"Tell the other Sohmas thank you for treating Tohru so kindly," Saki said after finally accepting reality.
"And tell Orange-top and Prince to keep being nice to her too," Uo quickly added.
"I will." Hatori said. Suddenly a bright light came and went. Saki and Uo fell to the ground temporarily unconscious. "It is not the end," Hatori said half to himself, "it is a new beginning…"
