Prologue
Daniel went sprinting through the hallways of Stargate Command, or as it is better known, the SGC. At one point, Daniel was in a full sprint, almost knocking down Sergeant Siler.
"Sorry Siler!" Daniel screamed while still sprinting.
"Not a problem Daniel."
Daniel ran up the stairs into the control room.
"Walter, where's the General?" Daniel asked.
"He's in his office. Daniel, what's going on?"
"Big things Walter, big things." Daniel replied.
Daniel continued up the stairs, through the briefing room and barged into General Landry's office.
"General, I have it. I have the answers. Well, we have the answer that is."
"Doctor Jackson, slow down. What answer?"
"I know how to bring them home; I know how to bring Destiny home."
Chapter I
Daniel stood at the head of the briefing room. Sitting around him were the rest of SG-1. Lieutenant Colonels Cameron Mitchell and Samantha Carter, Teal'c, Martouf, and Vala Mal Doran. General Landry was to Daniel's left.
Daniel took a long look at his team before he spoke. He couldn't believe how far they had come in what seemed like such a short amount of time. Teal'c was now a leader amongst the Free Jaffa. Sam and Martouf were now married.
After Martouf was killed, Sam began to really consider what her feelings towards him were. This Martouf was not the original Martouf, so to speak. This Martouf was from an alternate universe where he and his Sam were working with Merlin's out of phase device when a power surge caused him to be sent to our universe. Unfortunately, after a year of trying, Martouf accepted that he could not go home and chose the next best thing, he joined SG-1.
Vala and Daniel were currently engaged and expecting their first child. Things seemed like they were finally looking up.
"Uh okay. So we all know that Martouf and Sam have been working on the research that the alternate Sam was working on. We initially attempted to take large amounts of energy from sub-space in another universe. Well, the idea that the alternate Sam had come up with was to take small amounts of energy from thousands and thousands of universes to minimize the fallout. Initially, we had issues with this. I was able to translate some recordings from the Asgard Computer Core they installed on The Odyssey that was about similar research to what we are attempting."
"Using my translations, Sam and Martouf were able to apply the Asgard's work to their work."
"I'm assuming you have an end point Doctor." General Landry said, annoyed.
"I know how to dial Destiny from the SGC using that work." Daniel replied.
"Sir, we have the equipment ready to go, all we're waiting for is the go ahead." Sam stated.
"Now according to Eli's last transmission back to Earth, Destiny should have reached the new galaxy as of last week. He should be waking the rest of the crew. Now I suggest we dial Destiny, bring an extra sub-space generator with us that Sam and Martouf have built and then we can power Destiny and assume control of all of it's functions."
"Now Doctor, correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm sure I'm not, but wouldn't it still take thousands of years for Destiny to fly back to Earth." General Landry asked.
"Uh, if you had asked me three years ago, I would've said yes. However, thanks to Dr. McKay's research with Atlantis' wormhole drive, I very strongly believe that we can modify Destiny's hyper drive and convert it into a wormhole drive, making it so Destiny will instantly travel back to Earth."
"C'mon General, you have to admit you're curious to see this plan through." Vala squealed.
"SG-1, you have a go." General Landry stated.
