Maples and Gold
"Hey Matthew, what's up? Estavia asked one morning.
She was one of the newest countries along with Istillya. They were sisters, and close friends. They helped each other out when it was needed.
Estavia, or Abie as she preferred to be called, had a strong military and government. Her country was rich with gold. Her people, nice, pleasant and civil. Technology was modern and always improving. Her country was one of the healthiest.
Istillya, or Rietta on the other hand, had a small military for emergencies, a strong government and unique culture. Istillya was rich with diamonds. Her country was pleasant, bit rustic. Her technology was better than Estavia's, but, she had yet to come to terms with branching out and making more friends.
Abie, however had made several. She was dating one of the quietest countries known to man, Canada. Sweet, sweet Canda.
"Matthew, are you okay? Did you and Alfred play catch again?" She worriedly asked.
"No, that was horrific. I'm just thinking. Nothing to worry about. I promise, Abie."
"Alright, let me know if you need me," She kissed his forehead and walked off to talk to her raven haired sister.
He loved that about her. She was so sweet. Even if it wasn't obvious, she always worried about him.
Her brown hair was highlighted with blonde. It reminded him of maple leaves. There was no brown in a maple leaf, but hidden in the leaf were yellow spots.
She was his maple. And, he loved her. She could see him. Even, of no one else knew he was there. She always knew.
As she talked with her sister, she thought about him.
His kind, blue eyes, his sweet smile, his beauty. He was fragile, but beautiful. Not unlike gold, fragile when left alone, but with another metal, it was strong.
When the World Meeting began, they reached under the table, grasped each other's hand and smiled.
The maple and gold were some of their greatest assets. Their bond, was their greatest attribute. Their love, was easily seen by all. They were happy.
