Sam sighed, as he watched Dean tinker with the Impala. Maybe he ought to do something…
No. Or no, yes? Sam shook his head. He couldn't help Bobby. But he could help Dean.
Sam walked towards the stairs, stopping to glance at Bobby. The older hunter was still sleeping, so Sam went to the guest room that he stayed in.
"Hey, Cas?" He looked at the ceiling. "Look, I know you have a bond with Dean, and all that but would you come talk to me? Just for a moment?"
Sam waited for the sound of wings, but the room was silent. Sam looked around just to be sure. Castiel had appeared.
Sam sat down on his bed. Now how was he supposed to talk to Castiel? The angel apparently only responded to Dean.
Sam perked up. "Cas, something's wrong with Dean. I need to talk to you about it."
There was a rustle of wings as a familiar trench coat clad angel appeared.
"I don't see Dean." Castiel stated.
Sam sighed. "He's outside hiding from his emotions."
Castiel cocked his head and Sam explained. "Balthazar, he said something."
"What?" Castiel looked worried for a moment, at least Sam thought it was worry. But he couldn't tell with Cas.
"He said, you were in love with Dean." Sam told him. Castiel looked even stiffer than usual, and his blue eye narrowed.
"I know it's true." Sam continued.
Castiel looked away. "I said nothing, because, Dean could never feel the same way."
"Which is why he's outside toying with the Impala." Sam shook his head. "He only does that when he's thinking or dealing with emotions."
Cas was silent for a moment and Sam got up. "Go talk to him, if you don't believe me."
The angel disappeared, and Sam walked out of the guest room. He checked on Bobby again, then glanced out the window.
Castiel and Dean were standing next to the Impala talking. Castiel's back was to Sam, but he could see his brother. Dean shifted his weight and said something. Castiel's head tilted slightly, and Dean nodded.
Sam smiled as his brother finally kissed Cas.
"Thank dad. I thought they were going to explode." A cocky voice said, making Sam jump.
"Gabriel!" He whirled, to face the much shorter archangel.
He smirked. "Hey ya, Sammy. Sorry for not being here earlier, I was trying to keep an eye on the pagans."
"How much of an eye?" Sam teased.
Gabriel smirked. "Hey, so some of the pagans are good looking. But I mean come on. I learned from Kali. They try to kill you later." He glanced at the window. "I think Cas and Dean-o have the right idea."
Sam looked over, nothing had changed, except, Dean and Cas were gone.
"Told you. Sexual tension." Gabriel muttered, and Sam grinned.
"Later Gabe. I have to keep an eye on Bobby." Sam told him.
The archangel nodded. "I'll hold you to that. Tell me who's limping worse when they get back."
A.N.: Gabe's there because I felt bad for Sam. He'd just hooked up his brother, and he had no one. So * gestues to Gabriel *
Plot Bunny: That and you out to be captain of the Gabriel fan-club.
Me: Shut up. The plot bunny's my new muse.
