(Aurora pov)
I was sitting down reading a favorite mystery book of mine, with my cat, Hellfire, when the phone rang. I growled, and picked it up. "Hello?" I asked, a little bit annoyed. Seriously! It was Christmas!! Where were people's manners? I mean, even though I had no family, I had a life, and I liked silence.
"Aurora?" someone said.
"umm ya. What of it?" I was amused..why would someone ask my name when he had called me? Wouldn't he know who he was calling?
"Merry Christmas." the voice said.
"Wait a second. Who the heck are you? Do I know you?" I asked, slightly confused. Who the heck was it? I could swear I knew his voice. Yes, it was a man.
"I'm surprised you don't recognize your own father." the reply came.
"What are you talking about? I have no father! At least, according to my mother.."
The man laughed. "Should have known my ex-wife wouldn't tell you about me. Well, I am your father. I have been your father for, how old are you again?" he asked.
I was silent for a second. My father?? My mother had told me that he was dead!
"You mean, you're not dead like my mother said?" I was hesitant.
"Hell no!" he exclaimed,"Your mother actually told you that I was dead?"
I started to nod before I remembered that I was talking to him over the phone.
"Ya. That is exactly what she told me."
He laughed. "Should have known."
"What's your name?" I asked wonderingly.
He was silent. "Leroy Jethro Gibbs." he finally spoke.
I gasped. I had met him before. He had helped me find the murderer of my late husband. "My gosh! It's you! I-I, can't believe it! It's really you! This is wonderful! The best Christmas present ever!"
(Gibbs POV)
I listened to my daughter gush about me. I smiled. This was worth it. I found myself feeling happy. Content, if you will. It felt good to do something so nice, even if it was for my own daughter. I couldn't wait to finally be able to talk to her in person, find out about her life. Find out how hard it was growing up without a father. Christmas, was great this year.
