Notes; I hereby dedicate my 50th fic to Lotus-Brody, for getting me into G/E, and to Lycan-cub for convincing me to do my first story. Hope you guys like it!
"Hey." Elliot said as he sat down in George's office.
"Hey." George said without looking up from his paperwork.
"What's going on, doc?" Elliot asked.
"Nothing. Just under some stress." George said.
"Yeah, I know what you mean." Eliot sighed.
"Is your divorce finalized?"
"Yeah." Elliot said sadly.
"Relationships are difficult." George noted. Elliot snorted.
"I could have told you that."
"I wouldn't have thought you would have wanted an in-depth psychological assessment on why the marriage fell apart." George said with a smirk.
"I wouldn't have." He agreed. He looked around the office slowly.
"You know, I was telling Don earlier that I might have better luck with a guy. It was a joke though but now I'm wondering if I'm just..."
"A failure with women doesn't mean you'll succeed with men." George stated.
"No, it doesn't. But..."
"But what?"
"Does a physical attraction to a guy that's lasted for years?"
"Is there anything but a physical attraction for this man?"
"I think he's really smart and a great guy."
"It can't hurt to try." George said. Elliot nodded thoughtfully.
"George, would you like to try a relationship with me?" George blinked and looked up at him.
"HUH?" Elliot rubbed the back of his head nervously.
"I noticed shortly after Brodus that I felt really protective of you, and then I realized I felt something else but I only let myself realize it when Kathy left."
"Elliot, you need time to think. I can't be an experiment. Just give it a week." George said.
"Ok." Elliot said. He hugged George before he left.
George was left with a million thoughts.
The next week was awkward between them, but not as awkward as it would have been if they weren't who they were. After the week was up, Elliot walked into George's office.
"Have you thought about it?" George asked.
"Yeah, doc." Elliot affirmed with a nod.
"Let's give it a try then." George said softly. Elliot walked closer to him.
The kiss was somewhat unsure, but gentle and sweet. It was the best kiss Elliot had had.
"I am having better luck with a man." Elliot said against George's lips. George smiled into his skin before pulling him into another kiss.
