"It's like that time, in the cave..."

Riku turn her wide and gentle eyes into Daisuke's quiet demeanor. She pulled the blanket closer to her chest and snuggled up against his shoulder. With absent automation he pulled her closer, resting his chin gently at the top of her head. She yawned.

The fire was burning low now. Sparks and embers were floating in the heat stream, showering about them like a thin glowing umbrella. Sometimes they fell to the ground and smoldered. Other times, they would disappear in midair. For ever twinkling light that faded, Riku imagined that they were reappearing somewhere in the vast sky above.

Quietly, she took Daisuke's opposite shoulder and embraced him. He tore his eyes away from the brightly burning flame and chuckled softly. She blushed.

"If you're going to laugh, then I'm going to get mad at you, you know," she murmured.

The fire crackled openly, echoing across the empty shore and through the miniature canyon passes, about the large rocks which were scattered all along the coastline. Daisuke smiled.

"You're still going to do it, though," he answered.

Her cheeks became redder. "Well, I'm definitely not going to, now that you've gone and said that." But she drew closer to his face.

Their fingers interlaced. She gasped. Too far. Her body began to writhe uncontrollably. Daisuke nibbled her lip affectionately, cradling her arching back with agile fingers which found every pulsing point. When they finished, she sighed happily and stared lustfully into his eyes.

"You've gotten a little better at that."

"I guess so..."

Riku rose into his face. She pressed a palm to his chest and lowered him to the sandy rock base. Somewhat obligingly Daisuke leaned his head away to expose the right side of his neck. "It tickles," was his comment, while Riku nosed and nibbled at the skin.

"Mmm...!"

"Why'd you stop?"

She was avoiding his gaze now. He sat up, with her obedient frame in his hands. She refused to let him go, so they walked together into the cold and dark, away from the dying fire. The tide touched the very brim of the makeshift pit. The last of the flames died out.

A single ember flew high into the sky. It twinkled erratically, before its light fell low upon a rose petal. A cold sea breeze rustled the flower in its place upon the empty pedestal.

Riku came running back. Daisuke watched her in the distance. She picked up the flower and her watch, which she had left on an elevated rock. As she ran off, the last ray of twilight struck her hand, and a brilliant ray of light radiated in rainbow from the beautiful wing shaped stone on her finger.
