Jesse smiled softly as the sea breeze ran through his hair. He always wanted to go to the beach. He only saw it in pictures. Sometimes, when he couldn't sleep at night, he would close his eyes and just imagine. Imagine the waves…the sand…the breeze.

In fact, this summer, they planned to the beach this summer. It took forever for mom and dad to block a week for them to go to the beach but they did it. It was right there on calendar in big bold red ink. They would sit in the kitchen and talk about it. Mom said she would get a real tan. Dad laughed and said that she would blind everyone with her pale white skin. Mom huffed and she said his beer belly could be use as a nesting area for the seagulls.

Mom won that round.

They talked about building sandcastles and swimming. Dad talked about renting some boards. So, that they could try surfing. He couldn't wait. He counted down the days. Now, they wouldn't make that trip anymore.

Because he was different.

He had super powers.

A part of him didn't want to be special. He just wanted to be normal. Another part of told him that it just made sense. He always knew that he was different. How the other kids and adults treated him. Why mom and dad decided to home school him. He was a special child.

He was so special that demons came after him.

It was funny. The demon didn't look how he thought it would. He really thought they would have big yellow eyes, red skin, and some horns. The lady looked normal expect for her eyes. Those big black eyes just stared at him. It was scary. The thing it did…and said.

It made him so angry.

They lied to him too. Being FBI agents. While they were hanging there on the wall, they beg him not to go with the demon. Then Sam spoke. He didn't know how. He could sense he was telling the truth. Something in his face…in his eyes.

It was his choice and they wouldn't stop him.

He really just wanted to stay with his mom and dad. He saw what the demon could do. He didn't want to see his mom and dad hurt.

There would be no more cookie nights with mom.

No more watching cartoons with dad.

No more planning for the vacation.

All gone.

He said good-bye to his mom and dad. Left them a note on the dresser then he went to say good-bye to his room. He caught sight of the posters on the wall. That is when he made a choice. He would protect mom, dad, and everyone.

He closed his eyes and just imagined.

End.
