Author's Note: This takes place when Janie sort of knows about Cable's secret, but she's still mad at him.

Believe Me

Janie,

I've missed you, Hannagan. It's been way too peaceful without you. Of course, we can never be together until…well, I'm not exactly sure. Probably not ever. At least not until college…if then.

How have you been? I haven't been able to talk to you…really talk to you…in forever. School's crazy, there's no way we can talk there. Where can we talk? Your house? No, because of Carrie. My house? No, Shay and her bitch friends. Where? We need to talk.

I'm sorry that you have to listen to all the lies about me. Hey, this means that I can get arrested, but not have a criminal record! Sounds cool, right? Nah, you're right, it doesn't. But it does have it's pros. I mean, how many kids get to be like an undercover agent or whatever? Damn right it's cool!

Okay, okay, I'm getting too excited. Please, Janie, just let me talk to you. I know you're pissed, but now you know. It's not fair that you won't talk to me. Please, Janie, just let me explain. Just ten minutes and it'll be all good…I hope.

Please. God, can you believe that I was ever a stoner and a dealer? Listen to me, getting all sappy and nuts over a girl. But, that's what you do to me, Hannagan. That's what you've always done to me.

Love and hope,

Cable
