Badgerfur and Shadespirit stood next to the river bickering about whether they should really attend the gathering seeing as Amberstar could not go due to a recent bout of greencough that had claimed one of his lives. "We shouldn't go!" Yowled Shadespirit "Can't you see the clouds?" "What of the clouds?"
"The red tinge I saw at sunhigh!" hissed Shadespirit "An unnecesary death! We shouldn't go, I need to stay in camp and care for Amberstar while Crystalheart takes care of Goldpaw and Hailpaw!" and with that Shadespirit stormed back to camp. Badgerfur, blinded by the rage that Shadespirit would not listen to him pelted off towards the twoleg bridge yowling something to the rest of the cats who were following him. Unaware of his surroundings Badgerfurs foot caught on a tree root causing him to stumble and fall onto the frozen river, the ice fractured under his weight but when he tried to get up the ice broke and he fell into the water his head bobbing up and down in the water dissapeared as he was swept away by the current "Badgerfur!" Ebonytail yowled as she bounded into the water after him...
...The rest of the clan followed the shadows underneath the ice until the ice broke and Ebonytail struggled out of the water dragging Badgerfur by his scruff she looked up at the clan then rested her head on Badgerfurs pelt and her eyes glazed over.
