A story idea I got after listening to "Looking Through Your Eyes" sung by Andrea Corr and Bryan White in the animated movie "Quest For Camelot", which is an awesome movie.

I only own Rachel. Ben 10 belongs to Cartoon Network and Man of Action. "Looking Through Your Eyes" and "Quest For Camelot" both belong to their respective owners.

Love Took Me By Surprise

Rachel smiled as she walked down the hallways of the Grant Mansion, seeing her family enjoying Valentine's Day with couples hugging and kissing, the children eating chocolates, and wonderful Valentine's Day movies that were playing and several were watching.

She then spotted some of the younger children handing each other cute valentines and smiled when some of the younger girls kissed their cousins and brothers on their cheeks. It was just too cute for words.

She then quietly moved to the foyer, spying the older children making homemade valentines for their parents, siblings, cousins, and the rest of the family. It reminded her of Valentine's Days long ago when she was younger.

She now went into the kitchen and checked in the fridge, where a few heart-shaped cakes that she had made were chilling, ready to be served later on. Even the cookies jars that many of the children had helped her with were filled to the brim with cookies that had heart-shaped sprinkles on them.

She sat down, her mind going back to a conversation she had once had with her father when she had been four years old.

Flashback…

Four-year-old Rachel had seen her father give a gift to her mother, who had loved it and had kissed her husband lovingly. Curious, she sought out her father to ask him about it.

"Daddy, how come you and Mommy kiss when you give her a gift?" she asked.

Her father smiled. "Because your mother and I love each other very much," he said. "And a kiss between us symbolizes that love."

"So, when you and Mommy kiss, it's because you really love her?" The four-year-old asked to clarify.

"That's right," he said. "Someday, when you're older, and you marry a boy you like and he gives you gifts, you'll no doubt kiss him too."

The four-year-old made a face. "Ew, I'll never kiss a boy," she declared. "They're gross."

Her father's amused laughter rang through the house after that declaration.

End flashback…

Rachel chuckled a bit to herself now as she smiled. "Daddy was right," she said out loud.

"He was right about what?" asked a voice she knew by heart and she turned to find Rook beside her.

"He told me that one day, when I'd meet a boy and he'd give me a gift, I'd kiss that boy," she said. "I was four year old when he told me that as I asked him why he and Mom kissed whenever he gave her a gift. Back then, I didn't really think boys were that awesome."

The Revonnahgander chuckled. "I used to think girls were odd when I was younger," he admitted, making her laugh.

"And now look at us," she said. "Both engaged, enjoying our lives together."

He smiled and pulled her close to him. "And I've got the best girl in the universe as my bride-to-be," he said sweetly, making her smile up at him.

"And I've got the best guy I could ask for as my future husband," she said. "Guess that's what happens when love surprises you."

"I agree," said Rook as he pulled her into a French kiss and she let herself sink into his strong arms as he then led her into a dance with the nearby radio playing the song "Looking Through Your Eyes", the lyrics making both their hearts soar as they looked at each other lovingly and kissed once again as love surrounded them in its strong embrace.

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!
