Love's Innocent Beginning

*-* Narrator's Point Of View *-*

Our story starts at the High School Graduation of this year's class. All the students are filing into their seats, and the Principal checks to make sure that the microphone is still working. Its 5:00, and its been on since three, when the electrician came to hook everything up. Things had been pretty bad electrical wise at past graduation ceremonies, and the principal had wanted an electrician to come this year to avoid any problems. He pats the mic and a booming sound comes over the speakers. Yes, it's still in working order. He uses it to call attention to the students. Domon Kasshu and his band of followers were making quite a ruckus over on the left side, and being the principal, he wanted to make the impression that he had total and complete control over these kids. Though in real life, he was far from that.

The students had finally quieted down, so he seized this opportunity to call up the two valedictorians. Yes, there are two. Tied for this honorable position are Miss Rain Mikamura and, suprisingly, an exchange student, Miss Marie Louise of France. The principal gives the go ahead signal, and the two girls step out on stage. They are good friends, so they decided to give their speech as a combined one. Their speech is quite long, but since it was extremely well thought out, no one loses interest in what they have to say.

*-* Domon's Point Of View *-*

In my seat, I am mesmerized by Rain. All of our noise ceases as her song-like voice lulls me to a state of semi-consciousness. The two of us have always been close friends, but not very close at school. Our groups are nearly mortal enemies. Rain studies hard, and runs only Track. I, basically put, am a jock. I play football and basketball, am worshipped by my group, and have dated on and off with cheerleaders. Though our groups don't mix, there has been more than one time we have come to each other's rescue.

Though Rain isn't very popular, she has a beautiful figure. Once a boy had tried to hit Rain and threatened her with a gun because she wouldn't go out with him. I drop-kicked the guy faster than you can say "Hakuna Matata". Rain is an immensely strong person. A week or so following the incident, I taught her how to defend herself should something of the sort happen again.

Rain had come to my rescue in a completely different way. I had gotten an F on an American History test, making myself ineligible for the rest of the football season if I couldn't bring the grade up. Rain had such close ties with the teacher that she convinced him to give me a retry, and she stayed up with me every night that week helping me study. I came away with a C on the test, just in time for the big game against Gordon High, our school's rival. I owe her a lot for that.

I know I am in love with Rain. My only problem is that she already has a boyfriend, Seitt. I have a bad feeling about this guy, but I can't place my finger on it. He seems perfect. Almost too perfect. But I don't want to ruin a friendship or this night over it, so I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on the guy. That will just have to suffice for now.

When the girls finish their speech, they step off stage and return to their seats to the sound of loud applause. Then the principal and the superintendent step up to hand out diplomas. An hour later, the principal thanks everyone for coming and after quick congratulations to the students, he dismisses us. We throw our hats to the wind and hug the closest person to us. Among the screaming and chaos, I find Rain and pull her into a hug. She rests there for a while until we break apart.

"Congratulations Rain."

"Congratulations Domon."

I kiss her lightly on her forehead and say,

"Valedictorian eh? I'm so proud of you."

Rain brushes her lips against my cheek and jokes,

"Just barely passing eh? I'm so proud of you."

"Hey!"

"Oh relax, you did fine! You know I was just teasing."

Rain smiles one of her amazing smiles, the one she only uses with people she is really close to. I love that smile.

Suddenly Seitt comes up to them, and I release Rain, throwing her a longing look. She doesn't catch it though. She turns and throws her arms around Seitt. I chose this opportunity to make my exit.

*-* Rain's Point Of View *-*

I turn to French kiss my boyfriend, a signal that I trust him a lot. I don't that get close to many people, but Seitt seems perfect for me. Good grades, nice looking, non-jock, runs track. There was absolutely nothing wrong with him.

"I don't like that kid." Seitt said.

"Who? Domon?"

"Yea. He's a jock, and he gets too close to you. I feel like he wants you."

"Wants me? Like as in a girlfriend? No no no, you've got it all wrong. Domon and I have been best friends since we were 5. That's just how close we are." Although, I tell myself in my head, I wouldn't mind Domon wanting me......................

"I don't know, I just don't like him."

Just then, someone yelled out,

"Party at my house!"

It had been George, Marie Louise's secret crush, and another of my good friends.

"Well," I said, "why don't we go to that party tonight, and I'll show you just how much I love you?"

"Okay." Seitt agreed. Perfect he said to himself. Rain Mikamura, tonight, you and I will share the highest form of passion there is, whether you like it or not!

What is Seitt planning to do?

Will Rain be okay?

Where is Domon?

Please review! This is my first fic, and if I get enough reviews, I'll know whether to go on with this story or not. Thank you!
