Good day, folks. I welcome you, and shake you warmly by the hand! I hope you like this; it kinda just came to me real fast, and after writing it, I couldn't think of anything glaringly wrong with it while I read it, so I figured I'd leave it up to you guys to show me the negativity, were it to be a bad poem. If not, well, then, I thank you for your positive critique. Also, I got a message from someone as a response to my last poem, (Gotham City; it's fairly good, do check it if you have the time) and, just to let you all know, yes, I am working on a full length story. Problem is, I'm the kinda person that gets bombarded by ideas, and if i don't plan it out in advance, I'm sure I'll leave out things I really want to do by mistake, and I'll have to change chapters repeatedly and stuff... it will be really sloppy. So, to stop that from happening, I want to have the whole blueprint before I begin posting it on the site; just an outline, but a detailed enough outline where I know a few of the plot points, and know the story will be decent enough if written right. Then it's just up to me to do the writing! ok, enough of me talking...
Disclaimer: I don't own Batman... but I do own Bob Kane, and I think that ought to count. I have his ashes in a ceremonial urn in my living room. Also, I have Micheal Keaton in a cage in my basement. So I own A Batman, just not The Batman.
The Joker's Poem
I remember that one time at Christmas
I ruined that old family's store
I remember their screams
As I burned down their dreams
At what better time is laughing for?
And I remember when I met Ol' Willy
The man had never had a laugh, I swear
Now, what kind of clown I'd be
If I didn't make him see
Just how simple a smile was to wear?
So I don't see why all this hostility
I don't see why you treat me like I'm fanged and furred
Ones man's on the street beating people up
And I'm the one the cops think needs be deterred?
I remember when I first met the Batman
He never seemed to laugh at my jokes
I know that some old droops
Loved to laugh in groups
So I gave them gas so he could laugh with folks!
How does he repay my kindness?
He sent me to Arkham like some common psychopath!
Why's he got to be
So insensitive to me
When all I want to do is make him laugh?
But he seemed a lost cause, and I knew it
So I moved to get a laugh from the police
Everyone of them would have been mine
Until I was thwarted by the beast!
And I realized my life's goal was sidetracked
There was no way for me to complete my task
As long as he still breathed
He would always out do me
I must rid myself of the freak in the mask!
So now my hand has been forced
I hate it when I have to play this rough
I have Gordon here
And of course he knows where
And I'm sure he will make it in a huff
And spew some nonsense about me going back to Arkham
No, that is not a choice today, you see
For Gordon's over acid, I am armed, and Batman's not
Someone here will die, least likely me
Or so i thought before the Batman showed up
He cut the ropes and caught the cop one armed
Then he dodged a shot or three
Disarmed and duked it out with me
And now I sit in my padded cell only slightly harmed
But security hasn't improved
And my new therapist is quite a fresh young breeze
A sob story or two
And I'll turn the girl to goo
Then we'll skip this joint with unsurprising ease!
Then it's back to helping out the masses
I can't let Batman take me off my chosen path
Cause it's obvious to me and for everyone to see,
ALL I GOTTA DO IS MAKE EM LAUGH!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Hope you all approve. Respond, please, and note: I respond to every response that required more thought than "good" or "this sucks". So if you liked it, or didn't like it, please give me some minute reason why. Thank you all.
