Tension was so thick on board one could have cut through it with a knife. Zoro and Nami were glaring at each other over the table, giving off black vibes all around them. Everybody was feeling uncomfortable, except maybe Luffy, who was as dense as the mood right now, and Robin, who didn't give a damn.

"You really think you can defeat me, kid?" Zoro asked with a malicious grin on his lips.

Nami's eyes became even darker if possible and Chopper, Sanji and Franky gulped in unison.

"Don't call me kid." She growled. "And I'm not just gonna defeat you. I'm gonna bring you down so hard you'll never recover."

"Oh my, what have we done?" Usopp wailed. "We just start a whole world war..."

All had started with a genuine will to entertain themselves. There wasn't supposed to be a battle, nor potential death! Why on earth were Zoro and Nami so competitive in the first place? The sniper was on the navigator's side, along with Chopper and Sanji, while Luffy and Franky were supporting the swordsman. As said above, Robin didn't give a damn, and Brook was the referee.

"Come on!" The captain cried. "Start already! It's gonna be fun!"

"Fun? Fun?!" Franky exclaimed as the rubber man started to laugh. "Luffy, someone is going to die! Can't you see?"

"Shut up, both of you." Nami ordered, never letting go of her stare on Zoro. "Just watch and learn how to destroy a sassy bossy guy."

"Bossy? I'm the one who's bossy? That's it, you're on." Scolded the swordsman. "You are so gonna regret this."

"Are you guys ready?" Brook asked, not so sure he wanted to be the referee anymore. "Remember, if you pass out, you lose. If you throw up, you lose. If you leave the table, you lose."

He was meet with a grunting contest. No one was listening to him anyway. Despite the terror Nami and Zoro's fight were inspiring, everybody was excited. Who would win, who would lose? No doubt it was going to be a very close call.

"Right, ok. Ready?" Brook warned. "Three, two, one, go!"

All the crew – minus Robin who still didn't give a damn – started to shout. The battle was without mercy, not once did Nami's or Zoro's determination waver. They were both resolved to win.

The fight last all afternoon, as both of them were well trained. Anyone else would have collapsed, but they were still going when the sun came down. Their support teams had lost interest in the endless combat long, long ago.

It wasn't until midnight that Sanji stopped his friends. Zoro and Nami were both worned out, but would rather die than show it. Everything was spinning around them, and the whole world seemed both darker and brighter in the same time. They were on the verge of passing out.

"I'm sorry guys." Sanji said. "We're out of alcohol."

"What, already?" Zoro mocked as he put his empty glass down. "I could have gone all night like that."

Clearly, he couldn't. Neither him, nor Nami could have swallowed a single drop of beer more without throwing up.

"Who wins?" Nami asked, half dead already.

Sanji took a look at Brook's record, and a devil grin flourished on his face.

"Looks like you're ex aequo."

"Nop, impossible, nop." Said Nami. "I'm sure I drank at least two glasses more than him. I'm sure."

"Yeah, right. What do you say about that, Makisushi?" Sanji asked Zoro.

But the swordsman was already sleeping, his face scrunched against the table, and Nami gave a week cheer.

"He passed out! I win! I... I win..."

She fell asleep half sentence and Sanji picked her up in his arms. He would let the green man outside all night, no second thought about that, but he couldn't let Nami out. Tomorrow was going to be a ruff day for both of them. Their were good at holding their alcohol, but they were human, and sadly, they wouldn't escape their hangover.
