Darkness Without Light
Even though it was so long,
Still he really tried.
Though he was really strong,
He still had fallen and cried.
He stood at the grave,
With the sun long past.
No matter what he gave,
Darkness descended so fast.
Shadows of the night,
Descended on his mind.
Filling him with fright,
Trapping him in their bind.
Light and darkness were one,
They came together.
But now the light is gone,
Leaving darkness alone to wither.
Without the light,
The darkness dies.
Nothing left but night,
The darkness lies.
He closes his eyes,
And takes his last breath.
There he lies,
And waits for his death.
As he dies,
He smiles slightly.
He never notices the cries,
That came through the night softly.
As he opens his eyes,
He sees his light.
Peering down into innocent eyes,
That were truly bright.
The young one smiles,
Ever so brightly.
The older one smiles,
Ever so softly.
They stare at each other,
And finally come to see.
That without the other,
Neither can ever be.
