Dom was anxious; Kel had said that her party from New hope would be at the fort at noon. It was an hour past and he was worried. Dom had liked Kel as a friend for a very long time, but after her fight with Blayce and Stenum he realized how important she was to him and how sad he would be if he lost her.
Little did he realize that Kel felt the same way and was pondering the thought at the very exact same moment, "I wonder if he could ever love me, she thought as she rode beside Neal? She heaved a sigh and glanced at the sun and then smacked her fore head. They were running an hour late! Neal hearing her sigh and seeing her smack herself asked, "What's with the out burst of emotion Kel?"
She replied, "A. It is none of your armor polish, and B we are already an hour late."
Neal said, "Why does that bother you, a certain some one you can't wait you see" he then coughed a cough that sounded particularly like Masbolle. Kel said to Peachblossom, bite him, which he did obligingly. "Neal, said Kel, Go tell everyone else that we need to pick up the pace double time it! We are an hour behind and need to get there soon so we won't miss dinner!"
Neal rode off rubbing his elbow and muttering about female hormones.
A while later in the court yard of Steadfast……..
Kel and her party rode thru the gate and Kel saw a sea of familiar faces but was looking for in particular, Dom. Tobe came up to her and took Peachblossom after she dismounted. She greeted Lords Wyldon, Raoul and Yuki and Buri. A few minutes later she saw Neal take Yuki into his arms in the shadow so she turned away and not looking where she was going bumped into a particular some one, Dom. She looked up and realizing who it was smiled and said, "Hello Dom." He looked at her and said "How are you Kel" then realizing how formal they sounded they started laughing and gave each other hugs. "I missed you, he whispered in her ear as he hugged her, My days have been slightly less exciting with out you "
Kel stepped back and sighed happily thinking Dom just hugged me, Dom just hugged me, lalalala. Realizing how stupid it sounded even in her head she almost started laughing but gained control just in time. "are you busy after dinner Kel , Dom asked , there's something I want to show you."
