Squall Leonhart sat on a table in the SeeD garden cafeteria, thinking about what had happened last month. It was a while since Squall and his friends defeated the evil sorceress Ultimecia and a lot of weird things happened.

Rinoa had moved into the dorms at SeeD, saying she did not want to live with her father anymore in Deling City. According to Rinoa, she had wanted to be her own person, to get away from the problems in life.

Edea had also moved back to the Garden, living with her husband Cid. She stopped wearing the black gown that she wore on the incident in the Deling City carnival and looked completely different. Her powers were surpressed and she was a whole new person.

Squall was thinking about the other people who had been involved and how it all affected them. Zell remained energetic and annoying as usual, and has still not managed to get a hot dog from the cafeteria. Squall smiled at that thought. There was a high demand for those hot dogs and Zell loved them so much. Squall almost felt sorry for him.

Zell also had picked a fight with one of Quistis's followers and, needless to say, was banned from using the Training Center for a month. Zell was not very happy at this. He kept on whinging and whinging until Cid threatened to ban him for two months.

Irvine had actually stopped being so flirty with the ladies, since he and Selphie had started dating. Of course, that didn't mean that Irvine wouldn't flirt with Selphie. This time, however, she actually enjoys it! Squall thought with a smile.

That thought made him think about his love life. There were two people in the love triangle between him: Quistis and Rinoa. Squall remembered the time that they went to the orphanage. Quistis had confessed that she was in love with Squall. She was an attractive woman, but Squall felt weird about dating her. To Squall, she was his instructor.

He was more interested in Rinoa, and Squall could tell that Rinoa was interested in him. Squall had surprised both his friends and himself, because he cared so much about Rinoa. Before he met Rinoa, Squall had only cared about himself. But when Seifer kidnapped Rinoa and brought her to Adel, Squall wouldn't leave the place without her.

Squall hadn't heard anything about Seifer. After all the trouble that they were in, Seifer had disappeared. The same happened to Raijin and Fujin. Squall still wasn't happy with Seifer. This was because Seifer had killed one of his favorite guardian forces-Odin. Granted, because of this he got Gilgamesh, but still...

Finally, Squall thought about Laguna. Squall stopped having all those dreams about being Laguna, and had finally met him face to face. Laguna was living in Esthar. He was the president. Kiros and Ward were his apprentices. Ward had actually gotten his voice back. Ellone was living in Esthar as well. Laguna has had a pretty rough life. His wife Raine had died and he didn't have anyone to share his success with.

Squall looked at his watch. He gasped. He promised he would meet Rinoa on the front steps in the Garden. Quickly, Squall walked out of the cafeteria. While walking, Squall thought about the future. What would happen? He thought.

He shook that thought out of his head. Squall decided to concentrate about the present. That's what counts. The future could wait.
