Title: The Right Choice

Summary: During NFA. Spike's thoughts as he watches the horde of demons come barrelling towards them. Oneshot. Spike's POV.

Never thought it would come down to this. Me, the Poof, Blue, and Charlie Boy. Fighting side by side, on same team.

Honestly, if someone would told me a few years ago that I would be fighting alongside with Peaches, I would tell them that they're bloody well insane. That I wouldn't fight with him, I would fight against him.

But here I' am, watching as the horde of demons come down this way, intent of killing the four of us, and us knowing that this might be our last battle. My last battle of my life, undead life that is.

Fought tons of battles, hell I made a few of them but this, this is one of the big ones I have ever fought in.

But I know I made the right choice, in staying L.A that is.

Knew that I should've told Buffy that I was alive (or alive as an undead can be) and surprised that Andrew kept his word, but I didn't want to give Buffy's life difficult. She always wanted a normal life and she has one. I wouldn't want to destroy that for her. Plus, I don't think coming back from the dead after my exit at Sunnydale would be great. Gave my undead life to her (as well as to save the world) died, and then came back as a bloody ghost at Wolfram & Hart. No, I don't think it would go over well.

Plus, had a friend at Wolfram & Hart. Made me feel more accepted. The Scooby Gang sure as hell didn't. But Fred died, soul destroyed and Wesley soon died from the inside out. We can all see that he didn't care anymore. And now, he is in a better place.

And lets hope that is where we can go there, that I can go there.

So here I' am, watching as the horde of demons (and dragon. Gonna slay it before Peaches) come barrelling at us. I know I made the right choice in staying the 'Fangless Gang'.

I feel more accepted here than I did with the 'Scooby Gang'.

My friend told me to collect the drabbles I get and make it a larger one-shot than these. Oh wells. Might do that.
