Life has never been easy. Not for Alan.
He'd like it to be though.
"Now, Alan, I understand that your family isn't the kindest..."
He wasn't very social.
Perhaps he was secretly scared of being hurt or judged, when he really had nothing to worry about.
"And that it's affecting your social life..."
He'd never admit it, but he'd always wondered if it was normal or not.
Maybe it was - it seemed like it - but his family might be unique.
"So I've told your parents you'll be at a friend's for a few days."
Alan knew Mr Small was an idiot, but not this big of an idiot.
Alan had no friends - never tried to make any.
"Who, sir?"
So if he thought he was going to make friends now...
Oh how wrong he was.
"The Wattersons."
"Who?"
Dear Diary,
I'm at a different house. Bit strange - no one's been hit yet. Yes, there's been the occasional yell, but they had good reason to yell. They didn't yell once at me, even when I didn't get the table ready right - my forks were where the knife should be, yet they didn't yell. Richard Watterson, their father, just calmly told me I'd gotten it wrong (and was surprised I flinched and held up my arms in defence) and helped me correct it.
Gumball Watterson and Darwin Watterson got into small arguments, but Gumball Watterson didn't get hit. Whenever I argue with Alisha Young, I get beaten until I'm bloody. Isn't that normal?
And the water when I showered was warm - that's a first too. No time limit either, but I didn't take a lot of time. In and out.
Nicole Watterson asked to speak to me; I was worried that this would be the time I would get punished. No.
I got questions. Why did I flinch, why did I seem so anxious, why did I stay quiet?
I did not answer.
This house is weird.
Or is it my house?
"I think it's fair to say that Alan has family issues." Nicole crossed her arms once the children were asleep.
"Issues?"
"Did you not see his reaction to when you told him he'd placed the forks wrong? He flinched, Richard."
Richard frowned.
"And he didn't speak a lot..."
"He's a teenager, Nicole."
"When he came out of the shower, I saw some of his back and chest."
"So?"
"Richard."
"Yah?"
"His chest and back, or what I saw of it, was just a collage of bruises and scars."
Alan doesn't know that non-abusive families exist.
The Wattersons, as they discover more about the slender, pale boy, must change his state of mind before he has to return.
And then they have to stop him going through it again.
Not easy.
But that's why Mr Small chose them - they have a beautiful way of teaching children or teenagers things within days that would usually take weeks.
Skill.

A/N: So that's the Blue Silence Trailer.
I'll be writing Blue Silence at the same time of Crystal Kids, and after I finish writing The Sick Captor.
So yeah. Bye.
