Title:
Sing to me
Fandom/Couple: Smallville/Supernatural
Crossover/Chloe/Dean
Rating: PG-13
Summary: I found out that
Jensen can sing and that he is awesome. So, I decided that Dean had
to sing to Chloe.
Disclaimer: I do not own Supernatural,
Smallville, the characters on the show or the actors that play them.
I also don't own the song which is Eric Clapton's "Wonderful
Tonight."
"Come on."
"Now, Chloe I can't just do it on command."
"Are you welshing?"
"I am not…"
"You are…you are trying to welsh on our bet."
"I am not welshing," Dean said loudly, "I'm just….listen, I need time to practice and, a guitar. I don't have one and," he trailed off when Chloe produced a guitar from her closet.
"I borrowed it from Jimmy."
Dean's eyes narrowed as he asked, "Jimmy Olsen?"
"Yes, he's the only Jimmy I know. I told him that you were going to sing for me and that you'd need a guitar to sing along with."
Dean glared, "I'm sure Mr. Olsen couldn't wait to help you out."
Chloe rolled her eyes, "Dean, we've talked about this. Jimmy and I decided that we were better as friends. And he helped me out because we are friends and he knew that you would lose the bet."
"You barely won."
"I found the demon a full day before you."
Dean just continued to glower at her.
She arched her eyebrow and held out the guitar, "Now, are you going to pay up or not?"
"Fine," he said and jerked the guitar away from her before settling on the chair next to the bed. She settled on the edge of the bed, eagerly leaning forward to catch every word.
He strummed the guitar a few times, re-adjusting and remembering, it really had been years since he'd picked up a guitar. He only knew how to play because one of Dad's contacts had taught him when he spent time with him as a child. He'd love the feel of strumming the guitar, but since they moved constantly it was impractical.
He looked up at Chloe one last time and warned, "If you ever tell Sam I sang this song I will seriously make you suffer."
Dean looked down and slowly began strumming the guitar. Just as Chloe recognized the song he began to sing, soft and low,
It's late in the
evening; she's wondering what clothes to wear.
She puts on her
make-up and brushes her long blonde hair.
And then she asks me,
"Do I look all right?"
And I say, "Yes, you look
wonderful tonight."
Chloe can hardly believe it was Dean's voice. His usual sarcastic, flirty and sexy drawl is replaced by a quiet, soothing sound that makes her feel warm from head to toe.
We
go to a party and everyone turns to see
This beautiful lady that's
walking around with me.
And then she asks me, "Do you feel
all right?"
And I say, "Yes, I feel wonderful tonight."
Dean looked up and was surprised to see Chloe watching him with rapt attention. He mainly thought her request for him to sing was to have something to hold over him.
I
feel wonderful because I see
The love light in your eyes.
And
the wonder of it all
Is that you just don't realize how much I
love you.
Dean was looking into her eyes as he sang the end of the song.
It's
time to go home now and I've got an aching head,
So I give her the
car keys and she helps me to bed.
And then I tell her, as I turn
out the light,
I say, "My darling, you were wonderful
tonight.
Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight."
When the song ended Dean laid the guitar on the floor next to him, "So what do you think?"
Chloe curved her finger at him. His smile was cocky and sure again as he leaned forward and kissed her.
