Chapter One

Toothless's POV

I opened the door to Hiccup's house. My stomach growled with hunger. Humans...always forgetting to feed us. I dug through his stash of food until I found the perfect fish. I swallowed it in one gulp. Footsteps approached. Oh no, I ran out the back door and launched myself into the air.

Hiccup made me a tail that I could fly on my own with. I really didn't like it that much. I loved riding with him. But I put up with it until he wanted to ride me. Then I fought until he saddled me into my old tail.

I found a suitable thermal and rose into the air. I flapped my wings a few times to rise higher. Maybe I should tell you who I am I'm Toothless, a night fury. I am all black with wings and a tail. But half my tail got cut off from Hiccup a while ago. So I couldn't fly. But he made me a new tail that he controlled so I could fly! But then he made me another tail that responded to the half of my tail that didn't get cut off. So I could fly by myself! It's confusing right?

Well I am a nostalgic dragon. I still like the old tail so I make Hiccup put that one me when he rides me!

Anyway so I got high into the sky. Where Hiccup couldn't see me. I didn't want to get in trouble for stealing the fish, but I was hungry! But no angry yell came from the house. I was confused wouldn't Hiccup be mad. I dove down and pulled away at the last second. I laded softly and entered the house. Hiccup was holding my saddle and old tail. I made a sound of satisfaction.

But, Hiccup looked worried, he put my riding stuff down and filled a bag full of his stuff. His books pens, and food. Then he put my saddle on me without sating a word. Talk about nonsocial! Anyway after he strapped that in place he tied the bag on to me and rushed away to fill another. I growled in question but he didn't seem to notice, if he did then he didn't care.

My shoulders sagged. My new tail was in one of the many bags he put on me I had no idea what was going on. So I laid down and watched him. When he packed the last bag his dad came in and said something to him I didn't catch. Then he patted my head and said "Be good." Then he left.

Be good!? I was a perfect dragon! Always following the rules. Well, maybe I didn't follow all the rules but no dragon is perfect! Hiccup sighed and looked at his house like it would be his last glance at it. Finally he turned to me.

"Pal, we have to leave, this place is having a dragon problem...again. Too many dragons who aren't trained. They are tearing down houses. We have to find a new place to stay. Then we have to come back and train some of these dragons."

I snorted, so what some dragons were destroying the place! But I let him climb on my back anyhow.

I found another thermal and rose into the air. Stormfly and Asteroid were already flying. I shot forward over to them. Asteroid sighed and leaned against Stormfly. "Hope your well rested it gonna be a long ride."
