It was a boring Sunday morning at Hogwarts. All around the enchanted castle, students were lounging around their common rooms not doing anything, that is, every student except Blaise Zabini. Now Blaise Zabini had always lived in the shadows of Draco Malfoy. Although he was quite handsome with his Grecian looks, he was always quiet and withdrawn.
Said Slytherin was stalking down the halls of Hogwarts towards the Gryffindor common room. When he reached the portrait hole, he stopped. 'What am I doing here?' he thought. 'This was SUCH a stupid idea. Damn Pansy.' He ran his hand through his thick black locks while he paced in front of the entrance, cursing the blonde that had turned Hogwarts upside down.
Three weeks ago, Pansy Parkinson, considered the Slytherin princess, had publicly announced her relationship with the one, the only Ronald Weasley when she marched up to him in the Great Hall and kissed him right on the lips. At that time, Ron had turned a lovely scarlet shade and snogged back, but not before Pansy stood up and declared that they had been dating for the past year and if anyone tried to intervene, she would charm their private parts off.
The whole affair had caused uproar at first, with both angry Slytherins' and Gryffindors' shouting at each other. But after a week, said relationship had opened up the gates of Slytherin-other house relationships such as Goyle and Susan Bone, Theodore Nott and Luna Lovegood, and most surprisingly, Daphne Greengrass and Harry Potter.
Since then, Blaise had been working up the courage to ask a certain Ginerva Weasley out. He had harbored a crush on the Gryffindor since his fourth year when he literally ran into her and caught a whiff of her intoxicating minty strawberry scent. It had been two years since then and he had finally decided to march up to her and woo her off her feet, so to speak.
So there he was, still pacing in front of the Fat Lady when the portrait swung open and lo and behold, there stood Ginny. Blaise stopped moving and just stared at her with her flaming auburn locks and bright hazel eyes.
"Hello Zabini!" Ginny said as stepped out of the portrait hole, "Did you need help with something?"
Blaise stood there, unable to speak.
"Zabini?" She walked up to him and tapped him on the nose. "You okay?"
"Uhh…. Hi," were the only words that came out of his mouth.
"… Okay…" Ginny looked at him warily and started walking away.
"Wait!" Blaise cried out as he chased after her. Ginny stopped and looked at him expectantly. "Umm… I was wondering if…" He stopped, trying to get the words out of his mouth. "Would you… be umm… interested in going-out-with-me-the-next-Hogsmeade-weekend?"
Ginny looked at him like he grew three heads. "Umm… I think you're just a bit too, how do I say this nicely, inexperienced for me. Sorry Zabini."
With that, she rushed away from the crushed boy towards the library to meet up with Luna. Defeated, Blaise slowly shuffled all the way back to the Slytherin common room in the dungeons and fell onto the plush sofas there.
"Oi! Zabini! What's wrong," came Pansy as she and a group of Slytherins walked in. Blaise looked up at the faces of Theo, Draco, Pansy, and Millicent. He sighed and started to tell them everything that had happened. After he told his sad story, he hung he head in shame. After a few seconds, Pansy spoke up.
"I have an idea!"
