"I remember that night, that minute,

you said, 'No one you can ever replace you.'

Well darling, someone is bound to."

The day was blustery and so was your heart. But you kept smiling for the sake of the rest.

The gang decided to spent the rainy day in the coziness of The Lucky Cat Cafe. Another rumble of thunder came in and it seem to become more tempestuous outside as it rained down hard.

"I'm worried. She said she'd be here." His voice speaks out, the voice you wished you could bring yourself to hate.

But you smile anyway, because what were best friends for?

"I'm sure she's fine, Tadashi." Your soft voice speaks out in reassurance and he smiles back at you.

Oh God, you wished he didn't.

Can't they see?

You began to feel restless in your seat. Frustration rushed through your veins.

Why couldn't they notice?

How much louder could you possibly scream until they notice - until he noticed and learn you weren't okay. You were never okay.

Why couldn't they notice just how close you were to just ending everything in your life?

Oh right, you were lifeless and lackluster, dull and dark.

She overshadowed you; but the moment she walked into the cafe, taking her bright yellow coat off, you came to to a realization.

A realization that Tadashi did not love you back was like breathing underwater; your lungs burned for the feel of oxygen, but, finally at last, you could see everything clearly.

You saw how his eyes wandered towards Honey Lemon and suddenly you saw the tenderness, warmth, and adoration his eyes had hold. That moment, your world had finally fallen apart.

And with teary eyes, you stood up and said your goodbyes; but they didn't know that it would had been your last.

In your last few minutes you remembered the empty promises he gave you. You remember how in high school, you take his notebooks and draw flowers that he erased and all the dumb jokes he'd crack. But how could you possibly erase all the memories you held when there once was an "us" and all the conversations you'd have with him.

How could you forget when he whispered into your ear, "I love you."

Or worst, how could you forget how he'd say he'd never leave you?

But you knew someone was bound to take your place.

As you laid on your bed, your eyes began to feel heavy and the room blurred as your body went limp as you dropped the empty bottle of sleeping pills.

And in your dying breath you whispered, "Hey, you said you weren't going to leave but where are you now, Tadashi...?"

Author's Note:

I do not wish to romanticize/glorify sadness and suicide. Also, suicide is not the answer. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here. :) Thank you for reading and I apologize for the grammar errors. This was inspired by The Hotel Books and Cindy (tadashiswife) for introducing them to me!
