Hi guys! I'm sorry that I suddenly stopped working on my DaveJohn fic, but I kind of need to get some inspiration for it, so in the meantime I wrote this little Solkat fic for you guys X33 Enjoy!
Karkat always hated mornings, but sometime they weren't too bad. Like the mornings that he woke up to Sollux sleeping beside him, or a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and a kiss on the forehead. It seemed like only that lisping asshat knew how to make a morning better. This wasn't one of those mornings though. When Karkat awoke, Sollux wasn't there. He sighed sadly and stared up at the ceiling for a moment before throwing the blankets off of himself and swinging his legs over the side of the bed. He was wearing one of Sollux's shirts which was way too big for him so it slipped down one shoulder. Not that he really minded though.
He sighed quietly and looked around the room, which seemed oddly empty without the dirty blonde that usually sat at the computer. Karkat slowly stood up, starting toward the door of his bedroom. Something caught his eye though and he abruptly stopped. A sticky note was attached to the stuffed crab that Sollux had won for him at the fair the summer prior. He bent down and snatched it up before skimming over it.
Hey KK, sorry I wasn't here to wake you up, I had some business
to take care of. I left a little puzzle for you though.
Go make yourself a bowl of cereal babe.
Karkat blinked a few times in confusion and put the not back on the crab before walking to the kitchen. He grabbed a bowl and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch box and started pouring a bowl. Out of the box toppled yet another sticky note, which he quickly grabbed with his free hand. He poured some milk onto his cereal before reading the note.
Of course you picked the cereal with the most sugar, you're
so predictable. Go to the living room.
He scowled down at the noted and then turned toward the living room. He trudged in until stopping in front of the couch. On the plushie piece of furniture sat a neatly folded, brand new, incredibly fluffy blanket, and on top of that sat yet another note.
I bought you a new blanket because your old one was getting
ratty, but before you get comfy, check out the coffee table
Karkat smiled a bit at the blanket before turning to look at the coffee table. There sat a stack of nine or ten of his favorite romcoms and a heart shaped box of chocolates. His smile grew a bit more and then he noticed yet another note.
I hope I made even a morning without me sweeter, but go
open the front door.
Karkat blinked a few times and shrugged a bit before approaching the front door, still holding his bowl of cereal in one hand. He opened the door and there stood a smiling Sollux with one final sticky note stuck to his chest.
I love you.
Sollux took Karkat's free hand and led him to the couch. "Care to th'pend a whole day with your boyfriend watching romcom'th?" He asked, his lisp making things a bit embarrassing though it wasn't like Karkat cared. Sollux put one of the movies in as Karkat settled into the couch and started to eat his cereal, and Sollux covered them both with the blanket as he sat down as well. Not all mornings were all to bad, and this one defiantly wasn't the worst.
