Silent Vow

She looked around at the Great Hall twinkling with the Christmas Lights and felt the tears begin to prick at the corner of her eyes. She turned swiftly and watched as Hagrid dragged yet another large tree into the Hall. Professor Flitwick would later spell it to sprinkle the tree and the entire hall with snow to spread christmas cheer.

Something Minerva was sorely lacking in this year, she was utterly dreading this upcoming holiday. Her first of many to come without Albus by her side. She miss ed him terribly. Minerva could still remember when she she saw his cold lifeless body. His face stony and his sparkling mischievous eyes now forever dark.

On that day Minerva had made him a silent vow to keep fighting the dark side and avenge his death and protect all Albus held dear. She would allow the students and staff to enjoy this christmas but for herself there would be little joy this season. She would put on a brave face, raise a glass in Albus's memory but then she start her preparations.

Minerva would go to war to keep her vow and she hoped she would not be too long gone from his side where she know she had always belonged.
