The grass beneath my feet was still damp from last nights rain and the air around me carried an aroma of fresh leaves and the different types of flowers scattered around me.

I walked down the steep hill that we had parked our blue home on top off and stopped once I reached the river's bank at the bottom, a light breeze twirled through my hair and over my skin like a caress, I closed my eyes and inhaled filling my lungs and then with a blissful sigh I exhaled before reopening my eyes to stare out over the vast body of water in front of me; waiting for the sun to once again rise and bring on the new day.

The sun slowly began its rise and I watched transfixed, my dress danced around my legs as the breeze push and pulled it, the sky was just beginning to turn from a violet hue to bright deep oranges and pink when I felt two warm arms wrap around my waist and pull me close to the body behind me, I smiled contently.

We watched quietly as the sun climbed the sky and once it had rose high we knew the time had come, the doctor raised his hands to both our views and we stared in both wonder and dread as they glowed gold back at us, he whispered "its time" and I could hear the sadness etched into his words which seemed so out of place compared to his usual joyful and happy demeanour.

I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder and watched as he pulled his gaze from his hands to the water, his gaze was intense as his hazel eyes which were now flecked with gold took in what seemed to be everything around him; never taking his eyes from water he whispered once more

"I don't want to go"

My heart broke at the despair in his words, I turned in his arms and placed my hand on his cheek bringing his gaze to my face and with all the love I could physically gather into my words I whispered back "Your not going anywhere, your only changing" the corner of his mouth rose into a sad smile "and I'll be here waiting for you when its done" he brought his forehead down against mine and closed his eyes "your still the doctor no matter what face you have" he looked back up at that and I wiped the lone tear from his cheek with the pad of my thumb and continued

"and no matter what ill love you no different and no less" his smile brightened and I reached up to place my lips on his and felt his grip tighten on me, the hand on the back of my head anchoring us both to this moment.

We could have spent eternity like that but like most things it ended, I watched as he stepped back a couple of steps never breaking our gaze; he smiled and I mirrored it and watched as he glowed brighter and brighter with each inhale of my lungs and just before he burst into the bright shimmering gold that I had witnessed on his hands just moments ago he said "ill see you soon" and then that smile vanished behind a veil of beautiful glowing gold.
