Captured

This is the story of a heart of ice, forged by the wielders of fire. She's had everything she's ever known ripped away will a flash of heat and the stench of burning flesh. Her icy fortress around her heart is un-meltable, but what happens when it's exposed to a small, flickering candle, dying the cold?

As the moon rose above the tall icy walls, I started my shift for the castle guard. Everything was silent as i started my route. As the hours crawled on, i began to think tonight was just going to be like any other night guarding the castle...I was wrong.

Chapter 1
minutes after the first bomb hit, the gongs started ringing. "All guards to your positions!" someone yelled. I stood there stunned as another bomb hit, this one closer than the other.
"Kori!" someone yelled from a ways away. "Get your ass to your post, and protect the princess!"
I came to my senses and started to sprint toward the palace gates, getting there just intime to stop a bomb from hitting the palace wall. As i deflected another one a pain shot through my legs, a burning sensation travled up my left leg, transfering quickly to my right. I screamed in pain as i fell to my knees before quickly turning and looking back to find my pant legs gone to ashes and both my legs badly burnt. I turned over sitting in the snow as i tried healing them...but before i could even try, i felt someone behind me quickly followed by something burning hot being held close to my neck. "Stupid Firebenders" I mumbled under my breathe before going blank...
