Jack's 9/11 Journal Entry
Now in college Jack wondered what he wanted to do with his life. Maybe he wanted to become an archaeologist or maybe even a historian. Those two things seemed to be promising life prospects. Suddenly something on the tv caught Jack's attention. Turning around in his chair Jack watched as two planes crashed into the twin towers. Jack felt sorry for all the people on the plane; including the ruthless killers despite the fact that they valued their lives more than their own. Then Jack had couple of ideas for poems to remember the day.
The Pentagon Poem
A five sided pentagon
Hence its name it saved many lives
Despite the fact the devastation to one wall
All on fire blackened and burned and already crumbling to the ground
Everyone all in a daze wondering what the heck just happened
Hours on everyone realizes you've lost some of your own
Because a plane with even more souls on board
Took everything that happened to their grave
There were many words left unsaid that horrible day
Their loved ones will always carry anguish and pain on their souls
Wondering why all of this happened
And would God ever relief the pain on their hearts
Would he forgive the killers who caused them all this pain
Probably not because those evil people had no heart
They had no soul they only cared about themselves
A 911 Poem
Standing ever so tall in the New York skyline without a care in the world
The twin towers ever so high in the sky
Us New Yorkers minding our own business
But that all changed when two planes came and flew into them
And then they came tumbling down
Shattering the lives of many families and friends
The bad terrorists took something from us that we can never get back
May the victims of the twin towers rest in peace
And continue to watch over each and everyone of us
Flight 93
It's the flight that fought back with everything that they had
Despite looking death in the eye
They welcomed it because if no one could save them
Then they were going to fight back to save other innocent lives
A 9/11 at School Poem
A school full of kids
All laughing and kidding around
Until the loudspeaker comes on and says two planes hit the twin towers
Then everything and everyone goes silent not a sound could be heard
Pain and Strength
September 11th is a day that will never go away
Tears are shed and hearts ache
As we watched the two planes crash into the north and south towers
As well as the Pentagon and crashing into the ground in Pennsylvania
But year by year we come together to remember what happened
And share our never ending heartache
But we gather whatever strength we have left to catch the bad guys
Even if it takes something like eleven years
But the war is still ongoing for the last fifteen years
That caused our never ending heartache
And hopefully our hearts will begin to heal
Wiping the sweat off his brow Jack closed his notebook. After pouring all his heart and soul into those poems; even while writing at one point Jack felt like he had a deep connection with those who died. Jack then turned the tv off to have a moment of silence for all those who died.
