This cant be happening, she hates him. She always has and always will! Maybe. No, definitely. Right?
I mean, sure they were inseparable all year, but she was just messing with him, right? Just making him look like a bloody idiot in front of his mates.
Well, that might not be entirely true. Because, well, she hadn't actually spoken to me since fifth year. Sure, I tried to apologize, many times! But she wouldn't listen! The word just slipped out, my friends use "mud blood" so casually I forgot how bad it was. It was all that stupid Potters fault, him and Black. They set me up, I'd bet my life on it. I tried to explain this to Lily but all I got was, "You need to grow up stop blaming others for your own bloody mistakes!"
That's just what it was, a mistake! But moving on from that rather painful memory, engaged?
Who gets engaged in seventh year? Its ridiculous! What are they thinking? It will never last…hopefully.
Its all that stupid Potters fault. First he makes her hate me, taking her away as my best friend and now he takes away any slim chances I might have with her. Lily and I were meant to be, I know it!
Although, if you ask anyone else in this bloody school you'll hear differently. Everyone thinks Lily and James are perfect for each other, and head boy and girl to top things off! Even the teachers love them, although they'd never admit it.
Am I the only one who sees what a disaster they are? They always fight and they're polar opposites. Lily is smart and thrives in class, while James just goofs off with his mates. Lily is witty and loved by everyone, James is one of the most infuriating people I've ever met. Basically, Lily's perfect and James is…horrible.
Lily and I have been fighting an uphill battle since the beginning, her being muggle-born and me being…well, me. Things got worse as we got older, new challenges to deal with, but we stayed friends! Until I ruined it. But still, I'm better for her than that Potter.
Hopefully she'll come to her senses soon, this can't last long. Right?
