Disclaimer: I do not own Pokémon and I will probably never will... yadda yadda.

This WAS my first ikari story, but whatever, it isn't now. Same rules apply, no flames please.

AGES:

Paul: 20

Dawn: 18

May: 18

"... and lastly, we have been notified of a strong hurricane heading towards Veilstone. No one knows how long it will last, but our prediction is a few days. We can only tell you to stay covered up and in your house to wear it out! This is your weatherman-"

Dawn signed heavily as she turned off the T.V., effectively cutting off the rather cheerful weather broadcaster. The weather had been behaving strangely lately, going from clear, blue skies to cloudy, rainy ones in under a minute. She suspected it was the work of some pokémon of some sort, but no one had confirmed her suspicions.

I just had to go with May on a shopping spree, didn't I, she thought bitterly. May had come up to her a few days ago at a party, talking about going on a shopping spree throughout Sinnoh. Dawn, being Dawn, obviously decided to invite herself in. They were currently in Veilstone, where they were staying at a hotel. May was out shopping or eating, or at the beach, or wherever. Dawn really didn't care one bit, as long as they stayed in Veilstone, where Paul lived.

What was so important about Paul? Well, Dawn had a teensy, weensy, itsy, bitsy crush on him. Ok, maybe a HUGE crush. Some people may call her a stalker, considering the fact that she found out where his house was at the beginning of their stay in Veilstone. But she wasn't watching him or anything, not at all.

She didn't really like him. It was only his beautiful onyx eyes, his plum hair, his scowl, his face, his cold, harsh attitude... Alright. She had to admit, maybe she actually DID like him. A liking close enough to love.

Dawn signed again, glancing through the hotel room's window. The grey sky was already cloudy, and since she figured they'd be stuck there for a few days, she might as well enjoy the nature before being forced back in the confines of the indoors.

Before she left, she decided to leave a note to May.

May-

I'll be out for an hour or so, you don't need to look for me, I'll only be walking. See you when I come back.

Dawn

Good enough. She placed the note on the table beside the bed, grabbed her coat, and stepped out the room's door and into the elevator at the end of the hallway. Hurrying through the hotel's main entrance doors and ignoring the stares from many other travelers, Dawn was hit with a wave of cold as soon as she stepped outside onto the sidewalk, and she pulled on her jacket, glad she hadn't left it at Twinleaf.

Now that she was outside, what was she to do next? The first thing that popped up in her mind was to go to Paul's house. She immediately shook her head, not wanting to look desperate (and stalker-like), even if she was single while most of her friends were in a relationship.

After a couple minutes of standing around and thinking to herself, she decided to go to the park. A quick stroll around the calm park could give her time to think. As she walked to the park, she noticed a breeze had picked up, and the sky got slightly darker. Dawn shivered, pulling her jacket tightly around her. It really was windy. When she got to the park, the realization that nobody else was there hit her like a cannon. Of course, a hurricane was going to hit sometime in the next hour! What was she, crazy? Probably.

A few minutes of walking later, it had started to rain, and the breeze became a forceful wind. Dawn noticed this, but decided to wander around a little longer.

It turned out that a little longer was too long, as the weather had started to actually look like a hurricane. The blue haired girl could barely get through the bitter wind biting at her and the rain pelting her. I should run... she thought. She tried following her mind's orders, but the strong winds kept her from going any faster than she already was.

Finally, she saw a house with lights showing through the windows standing by itself near the forest. She couldn't tell if she knew the house, but she didn't care. Dawn struggled up to the door with quite some effort and knocked on it. Only seconds later, the door opened.

Well, I've edited this chapter thoroughly, and... Well, this is the first one! I've shortened it quite a lot, don't you think?

You probably don't, since you probably have never even read this story before this... But, for my readers that've read this before and for some reason came back... Well, isn't it shorter? I'm planning to make the entire story longer, so don't worry.
