As mementoes go, it's not much but Sam wouldn't trade it for the world. He savors the coolness of the metal, the softness of the bow and he loves it for the past it represents. It's dulled with time and the ribbon doesn't catch the moonlight any more. But it did once and that's what Sam remembers most.
Dean tries to understand but Sam knows he doesn't, knows Dean can't ever comprehend how much a simple hair clip can mean to him. He could go into details for his older brother but when it comes down to it he only needs three words.
