Mom!

His world came crashing down for the first time after his mother passed away in an epidemic. It hurt him, more then he thought possible. God, it hurt, it hurt. He wanted it gone, the pain, gone. Most of all, he wanted his mom back, to see her smile just once more. They couldn't live without her. They wanted her back.

He'd do anything, anything at all, to bring their beloved mother back.

We aren't going to live without her. Because we're going to bring her back.

What was left, of his already shattered world, crumbled, when he was eleven. He thought he could play god, did he? Well, he was wrong, oh so wrong. He paid the price, and lost what he should have cherished instead of focusing on the dead. The dead can't come back. Not ever. It's impossible. Absolutely impossible. He should known, he should have remembered. All is one, and one is all. That was what he was taught. And yet, he still went against it, against the flow of the universe.

But now, it's too late.

Give him back! He's my little brother, he's all I have left!

What could he possibly do now? He was foolish and arrogant, thinking he could play god. He had his wax wings stripped from him, before he was sent plummeting back to earth as the price for crossing into god's domain, losing almost everything he held dear to him.

It was his fault. He caused his little brother to be trapped in that cold, hard shell. He caused his mother to die a second time. He didn't know what to do. He didn't know how to move forward. He gave up, with his eyes resembling that of a dead man's. He may as well have been one. He should have died. He wished he did. They may have said he was lucky to be alive, but he didn't call this lucky. Being alive just felt like a curse, weighing constantly on his sanity. He wanted to die, to end it all.

Until one day, they came.

"Will you sit back here, wallowing in self pity, or will you stand up, and seize the chance the military has to offer you?"

Would he? Was there really a chance he could fix this?

"If you believe that the possibility to getting your body back exists, you should seek it out, keep moving forward no matter what it takes. Even if it lies through a river of blood."

If there really was a chance... He would take it. He may not deserve to live normally, but his brother did. His poor brother didn't deserve to live like that, his face hidden behind all that steel, without being able to feel warmth or eat.

He may not be able to repair his world, but he can pick up the pieces, by getting his dear little brother back to normal, even if it means going through hell again...

Even if it kills him.

A hero once soared through the sky on wax wings. But one day, he got too close to the sun. His wings of wax melted away, and he was thrown back to the earth as his price for getting too close to the sun.
